Winchester Social Walks
Welcome to **Winchester Social Walks**, a small friendly walking group with a relaxed approach to walking. We aim to offer members a chance to meet, walk and talk with others in the beautiful Hampshire countryside, giving everyone the opportunity to soak in the views, enjoy nature, the wildlife, and take plenty of pictures. If you are alone, don't worry! Many walkers turn up by themselves and it's a great way to meet new people and make new friends. The walks will mostly be on a Saturday - with some shorter after work walks in the summer - at a leisurely pace suitable for those who are comfortable and physically fit to complete walks from approx. 4 to 12 miles (6.5 -19 km). Anyone over the age of 18 is welcome to join, including dogs and well-behaved dog owners, **but please check before bringing your dog, in case some walks might not be suitable.** This is a non-smoking group. **All members must provide a recognisable picture of your face, without long distance pictures.** This is so that we can look out for you and welcome you at any events you attend, otherwise your request to joining may be declined. Please note (as with most groups) there will be a modest **charge of £2 per person** **per walk** to cover the subscription costs of the site and other expenses associated with running the group. There may also be additional charges depending upon the activity. **T&Cs:** By joining *Winchester Social Walks Meetup Group* and participate in events, you confirm to have read and accepted the following terms: 1. *Winchester Social Walks Meetup Group* does not provide liability insurance for the protection of individuals who may participate in any of the events planned by the Organizer or Assistant Organizers. This release extends and applies to, and also covers and includes, all unknown, unforeseen, unanticipated and unsuspected injuries, damages, loss and liability. 2\. The organisers reserve the right to remove anyone from the group who is pestering other members or using threatening or abusive language\. 3. It is advisable not to put your personal information such as mobile numbers in comments. 4\. To ensure that you get the latest news about events and messages\, you are advised to turn on your **email notification**. This can be managed through your profile. We don't hold your personal email address unless you give it to us. 5. The organizers ask members to only sign up for events which they are committed to and to **cancel asap if they are no longer able to attend**. **IMPORTANT DISCLAIMER** By agreeing to join this group and participate in events, you agree to the below disclaimer: Hiking, hill walking and essentially all outdoor activities can be risky - there is a risk of personal injury and event death. All participants must be aware of the risks and accept the risks - participants are responsible for their own safety and actions. I, the organizer, am not responsible or liable in any way. I am not a qualified hike leader nor a first aider, this group is my hobby. All participants agree not to hold me responsible or liable for any injury (or death), damage or losses incurred either directly or indirectly from their participation in group events. Participants must conduct themselves in a manner that does not endanger themselves or the group. *Looking forward to meeting you.* Ilaria

Guildford Gamers
Modern 'euro' style boardgames are a treat, and we're a very friendly group :) **If "boardgames" to you means Monopoly, Trivial Pursuit and Cluedo...** then come and join us for the next step into the world of boardgames. Modern, 'euro style' games are of very high quality, can usually be learnt quickly and generally last for 90mins to 2 hours. What's more, they usually involve everyone all of the time, so you're not sitting around waiting for someone else to take their turn and you won't be 'knocked out' after the first half hour. All in all, they are much more fun and much more accessible than Monopoly and its more traditional counterparts! Although we sometimes play the heavier/more complicated games, we love to welcome new members and players. If you’re a relative newcomer to the boardgaming hobby, get in touch and we can make arrangements for a table to introduce you to the wonderful world of games beyond the traditional “roll the dice and move along the board” examples. Drop us a note outlining what you’ve played before (if anything) and we’ll make sure you have a good time. Some great introductory games include Settlers of Catan, Carcassonne, Ticket to Ride – if you’ve never played these you’re in for a treat, or if you have, come and try something else. **If "boardgames" to you means Puerto Rico, Power Grid, Agricola and others...** you'll already be aware of the sorts of things we play! **Where and when:** We meet on Tuesday evenings at 6.30pm at the [Guildford Institute](http://www.guildford-institute.org.uk/). We have to pay for the room hire, though the space, tables, and lighting are excellent (much better than a typical pub). The Institute does serve some drinks and snacks, but not meals, so if you need dinner you have to arrange that separately before or after gaming. Although we try to start promptly (which means we can fit in the longer games that other clubs can’t!), please let us know if you’re going to be late (after 7pm) and we’ll try and schedule games accordingly – we generally manage a couple of games each week (per table) so we should be able to time it to maximise everyone’s playing time. We also play 10am to 6pm one Saturday each month (check event listings - usually the second Saturday). **Fees**: The Guildford Gamers pay the Institute for the use of a room, so we make a modest charge for attending our sessions. The fee per person per session is £4 by card or £5 cash. Joining the club involves committing to regular monthly payments instead (currently £8, or £4 for weekend-only membership), and entitles the member to a vote on matters affecting the club. Under-18s may attend for free. Students aged 18 or over in full time education with valid ID, and Seniors Citizens over 60, are entitled to a 50% discount. The club is non-profit and fees are used solely to hire the venue and sundry costs (mainly Meetup fees and bank charges). **More Information:** We have a [Guild page](https://www.boardgamegeek.com/guild/294) on BoardGameGeek - the site for all boardgamers! BGG contains lots of information about all the games we play - and many more! We look forward to seeing you :-)
