St Albans Stationery Meetup Group

St Albans, F8

St Albans Stationery Meetup Group
If you enjoy stationery, journalling or any manner of analogue hobbies, then this group could be for you! Since March 2024, I have been organising a regular stationery meet-up with like-minded fellow enthusiasts. I have been particularly inspired by the proliferation of stationery / journal clubs that occur in Asia and the USA, and believe that there is no reason why we could not attempt to re-create our own as well. I am hopeful that a few of us can get together on a regular basis to explore the rabbit hole of analogue tools, and indulge in our simple doodling and dabbling as hobbyists. Another bonus from these meet-ups would also be to make new memories and share screen-free moments away from our busy and full-on daily lives. These meet-ups would also be an incredibly fun way to unwind, share our ideas and and even our stash (we stickers-and-washi-tape hoarders would know all about that). WHERE AND WHEN TO MEET? If this sounds like something you would be keen to get involved in, please join any of the meetups! I am in the St Albans (Hertfordshire) area, and we have been using the local St Albans Museum and Gallery courtroom café because it is spacious and flexible enough: we usually get together for 2 hours every second Saturday morning and fourth Sunday morning of each month. This is a low-commitment and relaxed group, as I want people to be able to drop in and out whenever their schedule permits. You are absolutely not required to attend every single session (but of course, I would love it if you can!). You may notice that we are tracking the number of sessions but this is because I am merely curious to see how long we have been running for, so please don't be put off or think that you might have missed out on anything when you come to the next session. We have a different mix of regulars and non-regulars each time and it keeps things fresh and dynamic. Basically: each session is different and non-didactic, we have absolutely no structure, we are not professionals in any way shape or form, and essentially there is never any plan! It's never too late to join in so please do come along to the next meet-up! Thank you for reading, Jasmin :)

Herts Tai Chi

Hemel Hempstead, F8

Herts Tai Chi
You can join this class if you are a complete beginner or if you have experience of Tai Chi or Chi Gung. I have 30yrs of learning with some of the top masters and teachers of Tai Chi in this country and abroad. I'm educated to degree level with teaching qualifications and many years of experience with sport, fitness and a wide range of physical therapies. My primary passion now is to share the knowledge and wisdom I have learnt during my tens of thousands of hours of learning and practicing Tai Chi and Chi Gung. The class will include two person exercises and meditation. When you join as a beginner you will have a full curriculum available that will help you develop to a high level of achievement, should you desire to do so. Initially the focus will be on supporting and enhancing health and well-being. Relaxing your body and quietening your mind. As you develop and learn to move in a relaxed way you will cultivate good posture, deepen your meditation and generate ease and vitality. The class will be light hearted and focused........two basics needed for good Tai Chi practice! The secrets of Tai Chi can take a long time to embody, but some of the benefits can be available immediately for most people. Let me know if you are interested in a beginners class Your first class will be a half price taster (£8), then you will follow a programme of development paid in ten week blocks (cost £160 for ten weeks). If this time doesn't suit you let me know when does, I also offer private sessions.

North London Friends

London, 17

North London Friends
This is a North London-based group organising social activities. We are based around the Muswell Hill / Crouch End area but all are welcome. The aim is generally to be local so it's easy to travel to places. There might be ocasional outings further afield into town or country.  Events are generally small scale. We are entirely non commercial, no attendance fees are requested and no profits are made. Sometimes tickets to events are sold by the Organiser or it is necessary for you to buy your own ticket. We usually operate in the evenings and weekends. Events could be films, live music, theatre, nightlife, dancing, exhibitions, guided walks, pubs, or meals out.  Really anything that we the organisers and you guys want to do! Ocasional outdoor activities might be walking, hiking, picnics, rafting, high ropes or other sports. We can meet new people, make new friends, discover new hobbies, find new places in our local area and much more. It is an opportunity to relax, meet and socialise with other members while doing activities you enjoy.  Join us, take part and let's have an adventure... Membership is open to all. Suggestions are most welcome.  Any questions about the group or member suggestions for events please message me through my profile.  We look forward to meeting you. We are a friendly bunch. Many genuine friendships have been formed in this group and we hope this continues. \*\*\*\*\*\* **RULES AND GUIDELINES** **General behaviour:** Members are expected to behave decently and considerately when they RSVP to events, communicate with other members and attend events. As you would with a group of your personal friends. In addition to that please bother to read and then follow any specific instructions set out in individual events and respond to contacts and requests from the Event Host. **Profiles**: Please please post a **REAL** picture of yourself.  This helps with trust and recognition. New join requests will not be accepted from anonymous people without real photos particularly with no other personal supporting information. We understand that ocasionally there are circumstances where you prefer not to have a real photo, please contact the Organiser if this is the case. **Removing members**: From time to time members who have not visited the Group in a long time will be removed. This is to keep the membership fresh, relevant and active. Of course any members removed for this reason are welcome to rejoin. Members may also be removed (or not admitted in the first place) at the Organiser's absolute discretion for not having a real picture, having an inappropriate picture or behaving inappropriately. **Advertising:** We are not a platform for members to advertise other groups, activities or services, whether professional or private, their own or for others.  Any members found to be engaging in this will be removed and may be blocked from re-joining. **Messaging other members:** Our Meetup group is NOT an online dating site. Unsolicited messages to other members within the group that you have not personally met WILL NOT BE TOLERATED. Any member reported to the group organisers for sending out messages to other members for the purpose of ‘chatting them up’ WILL BE REMOVED without warning and blocked from re-joining. Please note the Organisers will do their best to respond to member distress requests about this kind of activity in a timely manner but please bear in mind all this activity is voluntary and they have other calls on their time. ***NO SHOW POLICY*** ***North London Friends is run by volunteers who give their time and efforts to organise events for members to enjoy. DO NOT RSVP for events and No Show or cancel in the last 24 hours. Members who persist with such rude and inconsiderate behaviour will be removed from the group at the Organisers' discretion. As a general rule two No Shows and you are out on a third time. Or it could be sooner if it is a restaurant booking or similar reserved event and you did not cancel or attempt to get in touch. This may sound harsh but No Shows can spoil events and upset hosts and other members. Thank you for your attention.*** Karen  Organiser
