South East London Ceramic Arts & Pottery Classes Meetup
**When RSVPing for any events please note that we do not reserve spaces. You will need to follow the link in the class description to book and pay for your event in order to confirm your place.** Looking for a new hobby and to unleash your creative side? Then pottery is your answer. This wonderful craft is the antidote to the stresses of modern life. My name is Aliya and I run a studio in Crystal Palace London where I do weekly classes in both handbuilding and throwing on the potter's wheel. I have a first class honours degree in Ceramics from Camberwell College of Art. I have now been teaching for several years in and around South London. These classes help you get started by learning the various techniques whether it is throwing on the wheel or taking things a bit slower with coiling, building with slabs, making pinch pots, relief work on tiles or learning slip and glazing techniques. I practice continuous learning in a fun but relaxed environment surrounded by some lovely people. If you are a beginner you will need to do the beginners course before continuing with the regular classes. The classes are every Saturday and Wednesday evening so there's something to suit everyone. All skill levels are welcome. Beginners Pottery: Throwing on the potter's wheel £40 per person (2 hour class)inclusive of all materials plus a £3 per pot firing fee (most people make 1-2). Regulars/experienced can book the wheels for £15 per hour to continue their learning (clay is purchased separately). Beginners Pottery: Handbuilding 5 week course £140 (inclusive of all materials and firings, can be spread over 8 weeks) Regulars/experienced: 2.5 hours £30 inclusive of all materials and firings. Let's fill this city with potters!

The RAMS! (Rock And Mountain Sports) climbing group.

London, 17

The RAMS! (Rock And Mountain Sports) climbing group.
**Hi, fellow RAMS who were formerly known as the '[London Bouldering group](https://www.meetup.com/london-indoor-bouldering-meetup-group/)'. As the organizer, I have decided to rename this group for several reasons:** 1. The name conflicted with other similarly named groups and I wanted to create a unique identity. 2. Create a group that was embodied in the name, that you guys will be proud to be a part of. 3. Create a group that would be able to lead as a group and individually, through knowledge and experience via structured lessons available to those who are interested. and lastly 4. We can have a mascot that is described by our name :) So from now on it shall be called: The RAMS (Rock And Mountain Sports) climbing group. We will climb at 4 different venues around London, initially. Twice a week at each venue (The Castle Climbing Centre, North - Mile End Climbing Wall, East - The Reach, South and Westway Climbing Wall, West London). There will be visiting guest speakers giving talks that we will hold at the climbing venues. There will be outdoor climbing weekends and weeks too in the UK and abroad. We will also uniquely have courses that will be held to further our skills and technical proficiency for those that are interested in our Climbing Academy. The ethos of meetup.com isn't changing so meeting new people and learning new things is the same. And yes we will also go to the pub afterward for a few beers! *I hope you all get as excited as I am in creating and running this group that will become a leader in this field!* https://discord.gg/T5PnQFvp *p.s. There will be charges for membership and administration.*

Rotary Club of Epsom

Epsom, N7

Rotary Club of Epsom

The Rotary Club of Epsom is about community, charity, fun and friendship and is open to men and women aged 30 plus. The club meets weekly on a Thursday lunchtime as well as holding social events throughout the week, getting involved in projects, both in the local community and internationally, and supporting and fundraising for charities. Once a month we have an evening meeting. We follow the Rotary motto of “Service Above Self” while enjoying fun and friendship along the way.

Each year the club is involved in a range of local community events. There are gardening sessions at the Old Moat Garden Centre throughout the year. The club also runs the local Young Musician, Young Photographer, Young Chef and French Speaking competitions annually. The club has previously organised the annual Epsom and Ewell Borough Family Fun Day with the Rotary Club of Ewell and hopes to do again in future. In previous years we have also marshalled the Sport Relief Mile at Nonsuch Park and the Cancer Research UK Race for Life event at Epsom Downs Racecourse and hope to do so again the future. And of course there are the annual Christmas collections around Epsom.

The club has a varied social calendar with recent events including bowling, crazy golf, supper club in local high end restaurants, a trip to Walmer Castle, a West End theatre trip and a barbeque. We also have the opportunity to compete against other local Rotary clubs in the district sports competitions. <br>

This year we are fundraising for small, local charities. Charity events in the past have included a fashion show and quiz nights.
