Cotswold Outdoor Adventurers (hiking-camping-sup-pub meets)
Welcome to Cotswold Adventures Outdoors. Over the past 6 months, this group has grown and developed into what it is now—previously known as North Gloucestershire and Severn Solo Adventurers. The core members feel that the name needs to represent the group and not be so confusing. The group's aim is to provide friendship and community, whilst having fun outdoors. Activities will include, Hiking and Walking, Standup Paddleboarding, Pub Meets, Camping Trips, comedy nights, and more... In 2024 my life had a dramatic change, I began a journey of doing more of what makes me happy. So I started this group, with the aim of doing more activities, and if individuals wanted to join me, then that is great, if not I'd still be having fun. All that is left for me to say is welcome to the group and I look forward to meeting you. **Below are some basic housekeeping group rules that you agree to by being part of this meet group. Should not need to mention these, so far everyone has been lovely and respectful, let us keep it that way.** 1. Members must have a current **headshot**. Those who become members have 48 hours to update their picture for the group. 2. Members must have a **given name**. Not their hobby, job, etc. 3. The group has a **3-strike rule** within **6 months.** A "no show" to an open event is 1 strike. A no-show to a numbered event is 2 strikes. 4. If a member turns up to an event they **did not RSVP** they are **removed.** 5. If you haven't been to an event in **6 months** you are removed. 6. Please do not **spam** the group, send **unsolicited messages** to **group members**, or **sexually harass** group members. **Spammers**, **senders of unsolicited messages, and harassers** will be **reported and removed and reported to the police. It is now a criminal offense to send unsolicited images and messages to individuals.** **Hiking Advice** 1\. When Hiking please wear appropriate clothing\. jeans and flip\-flops are not ideal for hiking\. Recomend appropriate walking boots or shoes\. 2\. Please bring with you enough food and water to sustain you for the duration of the hike\. 3\. If possible and safe to do so\, please lift share\. 4\. Please ensure you are fit and well enough to complete the duration of the hike\. 5\. In wet weather\, waterproofs are recommended **Standup Paddle Boarding** 1\. Please ensure you have a Personal Floatation Device or **Buoyancy Aid**. 2\. All paddlers are recommended to have a **quick-release waste strap** for fast flowing water. 3\. Please bring with you a **change of clothes**. 4. **Shoes** are recommended for paddling as rivers and banks can have **sharp objects** even **needles** occasionally. 5\. Recomend the use of a **dry bag** for your possessions. 6. **A helmet** is required when SUPing on dangerous fast-flowing shallow rivers with rocks 7\. In colder months **wetsuit**, **thermal wet gear,** and layers are highly recommended

Martineau Badminton Club, Hadley Stadium 8pm-10pm Mondays
We no longer use this app. Come join us as a guest at Martineau Badminton Club where we play social mixed-doubles badminton at a standard of intermediate to inter-club competition level – over 18's only. Sorry, we can’t accommodate beginners as we have no coaching available. As a club of friendly people, we also arrange other social activities. We play on Monday evenings (except Bank Holidays) between 8 pm and 10 pm in Smethwick. We hire three well-lit courts in a local sports hall; car parking is available. There is no league match play. Plastic shuttles are provided. Guests/prospective members should understand doubles play and be able to keep a rally going. To see if you enjoy playing with us, when attending through Meetup, you join us for a trial as a paying guest (£5 per evening for three sessions, and £10 thereafter). After three evenings if you want to join us as a member and your standard of play is similar to ours, you’ll be invited to join us formally. Members pay £50 per quarter (Jan-Mar, Apr-Jun, Jul-Sept, Oct-Dec) by bank standing order. Players normally arrive changed with own racket(s), please bring trainers with non-marking soles to protect the sports hall floor. If after playing you wish to use the changing room facilities and showers, please bear in mind that the sports centre closes at 10 pm sharp. All players abide by the club’s rules. Finally, this Meetup site is for guests only (wishing to join) as our regular members do not book on this event. As we need to keep numbers manageable, new Meetup guests will be accepted to play with in sequence as numbers allow.
