This is a Virtual Off Roading Club \~ The purpose of our group is to create a large group of friends that have 4X4 off road vehicles, Land Rover, Jeeps, trucks, Quads and other types of 4x4 vehicles that love to go exploring new dirt roads in Arizona. ***OUR GOAL:*** *Is to enjoy the beauty of the outdoor environment in four wheel drive vehicles with others the share that interest.* AZ NO CLUB CLUB TRAIL RATINGS (1 - 10) Recognizing that trails are not constant in their degree of difficulty, the index requires that each trial be rated by the most difficult situation encountered that cannot be bypassed. 1 \~ County dirt road maintained for high clearance 2WD and 4WD use in adverse conditions. 2 \~ County dirt road with infrequent or light maintenance after rain or snow, 2WD high clearance with low gears, otherwise light duty 4WD. 3 \~ Road with frequent use, but seldom maintained. Dirt, sand and slick rock surfaces, with mud holes possible (note: maybe impassable when wet due to soil composition). 4WD recommended under most circumstances due to ruts or wash erosion. 4 \~ Road surface consisting of loose rock, dirt, and sand with some slickrock surfaces. Erosion, washes, gulches and rock steps no higher than 12”. 4WD is recommended with good ground clearance and driving skills. Aggressive tires and limited slip would be a plus. Water and mud is possible. 5 \~ Road surfaces are rutted, rocky and sandy with steps not exceeding 14”, with considerable slickrock surfaces. Water not exceeding 12” with some mud possible. Good vehicle approach and departure angles are helpful. Tall tires (33” minimum) and traction added device (lockers, limited slips) is recommended. Above average driving skills are desirable. 6 \~ Roads are difficult with considerable erosion damage repaired just enough to be passable. Water in excess of 12” is possible with mud conditions. Steps not exceeding 24”. Tall tires (33” plus) with traction added devices (lockers, limited slips) are recommended. A winch would be a plus. Enhanced suspension travel and ground clearance are helpful. Excellent driving skills are recommended. 7 \~ Trail consists of rock; sand and considerable slickrock with many steps exceeding 24”. Steep inclines and declines are prevalent. Enhanced off road equipment is required including locking devices (front & rear), tall tires, maximum vehicle ground clearance, and tow hooks. A winch is desirable. Excellent driving skills are required. Vehicle mechanical or body damage is likely. Roll over possibilities exist. 8 \~ Extreme trail similar to #7 except a bit more extreme. Excellent driving skills are required. Vehicle damage is likely. Equipment or mechanical damage is probable. Frequent use of your winch may be required. 9 \~ Extreme and beyond, similar to #8. Vehicle damage is likely. Excellent driving skills are required. Roll over is very common. Winches, spare parts and tools are recommended. Be prepared to spend the night on the trail. Beyond the capability of most modified stock vehicles. 10 \~ Let the carnage begin! Buggy territory. Street driven 4X4’s should not attempt this trail. Modified factory vehicles will not be able to complete this trail. ***NCC  Legal  Information:*** ***Rules/Guideline***\*: The No Club Club is just that: a "Virtual" club. We have no president, no treasurer or treasury; members are not "voted in," they simply join. The NCC is and most likely always will be an unorganized club. Our website provide as much organization as most members desire. Many members are already members of various "real" clubs. If organization (president, treasurer, etc.) is [what you desire](https://www.meetup.com/The-Off-Road-AZ-No-Club-Club/pages/8029052/Legal_Information/#), we suggest you look at the Arizona State Association of 4 Wheel Drive Clubs web site [http://asa4wdc.org/...](http://asa4wdc.org/) and find an organized club that suits you. This does not mean that you cannot be a part of the NCC; anyone and everyone can belong to the NCC and whatever other 4wd clubs they desire.\* *Since this is a Virtual club, there are no real rules, however there are certain guidelines:* *1\. When on the trail always remember to [T.R.E.A.D. Lightly](http://treadlightly.org/)!* *Travel and recreate with minimal impact.*  *Respect the environment and the rights of others.*  *Educate yourself, plan and prepare before you go.*  *Allow for future use of the outdoors, leave it better than youfound it.* *Discover the rewards of responsible recreation.* *2\. Don't drink and drive\. A cold one at the end of the trail is perfectly acceptable\. Getting smashed while driving down the trail only gives 4 wheelers a bad reputation and we'd rather not wheel with someone who would jeopardize our sport by giving the eco\-terrorist more ammunition\.* *3\. First name and last name are required for approval as a member\. You may use both partners first names and a last name as well\. Single names or nick names will not be approved\. Administratively we can not sort communications or RSVP’s with single names or nick names\. The priority of who is first to [sign up](https://www.meetup.com/The-Off-Road-AZ-No-Club-Club/pages/8029052/Legal_Information/#) on events depends on this clarity.*  *4. If you want to promote your business or other organizations it must be approved .*   *Disclaimer & Assumption of Risk/Liability:* *The No Club Club (NCC), is a non-established, not for profit, nonofficial club. The NCC is simply a collaboration of individuals sharing a common interest. The NCC and it's members cannot be held accountable for the actions of any member of the NCC. Off roading, like all sports have inherent risks and dangers. All participants (on behalf of him or herself and his/her minor children) are responsible for their own safety during events, voluntarily accepts any and all risks of injury, harm, medical conditions, or [property damage](https://www.meetup.com/The-Off-Road-AZ-No-Club-Club/pages/8029052/Legal_Information/#), assumes all liabilities, and waives any and all damages against NCC (including its organizers, hosts, and members).* *Privacy Information submitted to NCC and it's webmasters is used only for it's intended use. This information is not sold, traded or otherwise loaned to any entity outside of the NCC* *Trail Runs/Trip Reports* *By participating in trail runs planned through NCC, you are permitting the use of your name, nickname, and any photos taken of your person or vehicle during the run to be used in conjunction with associated trip reports. Prescott Nature Hikes and City Walks

Prescott Nature Hikes and City Walks
Enjoying the beauty of nature and simple pleasures of life is my goal. We are here for \- Safe hiking and exercise \(for some of us also an easy way to lose weight\) \- Getting to know people and being here for each other \- Developing skill sets for the outdoors \- Healing body\, mind\, and spirit \- Living intentionally I am very grateful for the help leading of my Event Organizer(s) Jeff. Let’s support each other in our fitness goals! MOTION IS LOTION FOR YOUR BODY AND MIND! Now for all the important stuff:   HIKE RATINGS We do super low impact easy, moderate, moderately strenuous, strenuous, and very strenuous hikes. Please check each hike for the ratings of the same! For Hike Difficulty Ratings (R(#)) and Calculations See [bit.ly/HikeRating2](https://bit.ly/HikeRating2) . OnB = Out and Back or In and Out. Loop = Loop (CW= Clockwise; CCW = Counterclockwise. Lollipop = OnB with Loop. Social(s) = Unmarked Trails. Start out on an easy hike and get to know the hike organizer regarding pace etc. SAFETY!! Abiding by ALL THE SAFETY ADVICE on this page Is A PREREQUISITE FOR PARTICIPATION in any hike offered here. **!! PLEASE BE AWARE THAT ON AND OFF TRAIL HIKING, ROCK CLIMBING, CROSSING STREAMS AND TRAVELING IN MOUNTAINOUS TERRAIN ARE HAZARDOUS ACTIVITIES, AND YOU ARE VOLUNTARILY PARTICIPATING IN THESE ACTIVITIES AND/OR INSTRUCTION WITH KNOWLEDGE OF THE DANGER INVOLVED, AND YOU HEREBY AGREE TO ACCEPT, AND YOU VOLUNTARILY ASSUME, ANY AND ALL RISK OF DEATH, INJURY, LOSS, OR DAMAGE TO PERSON OR PROPERTY.** BEFORE HIKING WITH US, you must BE HEALTHY AND FIT FOR THE ACTIVITY. Check with your doctor to be sure you are cleared for hiking activity. Plenty of WATER, SUN PROTECTION, GOOD LAYER-ABLE CLOTHING, AND EXCELLENT FOOTWEAR make for a superior rather than miserable hike experience. BEFORE HIKING WITH US, YOU AGREE TO HAVE WATCHED the 2 "10 ESSENTIALS OF HIKING" videos listed below. The way they are generally listed has changed over the years. Today they are often grouped as Food, Water, Fire, Fix It, Insulation, Illumination, Sun, Shelter, and Navigation. I have expanded these to include 8 more areas for a total of 18. These are often presumed to be included in the above 10, but in my experience are often overlooked and should be listed as additional and separate categories. 10 just sounds catchier than 18. Let us go over all of them sometime together. One is listed below in this introduction. Can you guess, which one? For starters, please watch: What are The Ten Essentials? \|\| REI: [https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=J-Ae6OKjb6I&pp=ygUYMTAgZXNzZW50aWFscyBmb3IgaGlraW5n](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=J-Ae6OKjb6I&pp=ygUYMTAgZXNzZW50aWFscyBmb3IgaGlraW5n) 10 Essentials for Hiking \| Most Important Things for Hikers: [https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rdcjZCf2klU](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rdcjZCf2klU) My MOTTO IS "LET US HIKE ALONE TOGETHER." This means you should be able to hike each hike on your own without guidance. If each of us thinks and acts this way, we can truly support each other. An ounce of preparation is worth a pound of cure. This facilitates having fun instead of inviting crises. A HIKING APP ON A FULLY CHARGED CELLPHONE is a great idea. I recommend [https://www.komoot.com](https://www.komoot.com) as my favorite free hiking app for a host of reasons. (I do not get paid for this recommendation.) Abide by safe and proper HIKING ETIQUETTE. For a basic list: Leave no trace. Carry out everything. Stay on trail. Honor right of way (1st horse, up-hill hiker, hiker, cyclist last except it is nice to make room for them). Leave wild animals alone. Lower voice. Do not share playing music. Do not crowd others. Again, look out for one another. Here are 3 ETIQUETTE VIDEOS of suggestions some have made:  [https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tEmo13gNtkE](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tEmo13gNtkE) , [https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yDbTqeyK358&pp=ygUQSGlraW5nIEV0aXF1ZXR0ZQ%3D%3D](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yDbTqeyK358&pp=ygUQSGlraW5nIEV0aXF1ZXR0ZQ%3D%3D) , [https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=m5snAe-hRas](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=m5snAe-hRas) Using HIKING STICKS helps you get a better workout and a more sure footing: [https://youtu.be/7q2YwOE4okA](https://youtu.be/7q2YwOE4okA) Consider SNAKE GAITERS for protection against snakebites as well as PEPPER SPRAY for self-defense. Hopefully you will never need them, but if you do, your life may depend on them. IMPORTANT ADDITIONAL- AND ESSENTIAL INFORMATION FOR SAFETY ETC. Welcome to the NEW MEMBERS of my group! Please CHECK EACH HIKE DESCRIPTION! Please check in the morning before each hike for cancellations due to the weather or for whatever reason. THUNDERSTORMS WITH LIGHTNING MEAN POSTPONING OR ABORTING THE HIKE! PLEASE CHECK YOUR MEETUP APP FOR LAST MINUTE CANCELLATIONS! ADHERE TO ALL MEETUP.COM RULES. Additionally, all participants must have signed up for participation in a hike. Cancellation must be made at least 1 hour prior to hike. No-shows may have their membership cancelled. All membership and participation is at group organizer's discretion in any case. You must be a US citizen, legal immigrant, or proper visa holder, all in good standing. You must follow outdoor areas' jurisdiction laws. CHILDREN are welcome, if accompanied by their parent or guardian. See whether DOGS are permitted for a particular hike. If you bring a dog, please obey the local, state, and/or federal leash laws. A maximum 6-foot leash is required by law in most places. NO SMOKING on the hikes! Not healthy for you and others around you! Thank you. Be ready for hikes 5 MINUTES BEFORE the designated start time. Thank you. Help others by just hiking. Here's a link to walk for the CHARITY OF YOUR CHOICE: [http://charitymiles.org/](http://charitymiles.org/) Each ORGANIZER has their unique style. Please see details for each planned hike. If you would like to help me HOST A HIKE, please message me! I would be happy to have all members voice their ideas. Let's gain fitness and lose weight by just walking! To purchase an ANNUAL PASS for Prescott National Forest, go to 344 S. Cortez or call 928-443-8000. City day passes are required on some hikes. Wednesdays tend to be free in both city and national forests at the time of this writing.     OKAY THEN... Glad you read through all this and watched the videos. Hiking as a sport has a continuous learning curve. Feel free to ask your questions on trail. I will answer additional questions beforehand as able. Please know my schedule is busy, if I cannot for some reason get back to you. NOW LET'S GO AND HAVE SOME FUN!
