Sports & Hobbies groups near Santa Ana, CA

Group for casual riders and commuters who enjoy riding and would like to occasionally meetup for small group rides, or just hang-out for lunch. Meetups will start in North Orange County. Destination rides and cool lunch spots are on the menu. I ride a sport-touring bike, so an occasional overnighter trip might be fun too. I'll start posting some rides soon, so stay tuned!

We are a community center, a hangout, a hub. Our stores are like a second home to local athletes and groups who use our space daily for club meetings, to host potlucks, and to start a workout from our front doors. We know most people are inside the store so they can get outside the store. We know because we’re out on the trails and on the roads with them. Making friends as an adult is hard! But together, I think we can do it. I'm almost embarrassed to say I've lived in Long Beach for almost two years and have done a terrible job making friends. But I'm a homebody that is a beginner at crochet and I think there are probably other people out there who also like to knit or crochet but want to socialize in low stress and smaller group environments. So this is for the other Long Beach folks out there who want to meet other crochet/knitters. We'll have in person events around LBC where we can crochet together. A stitch & bitch, if you will. This is the first meetup group I've ever started so if you'd like to help me host events, that would be great! Note: Members, you should be pro-LGBTQ rights, pro-trans rights, pro-vaccination, pro-BLM, pro-choice. I don't want to spend my limited social energy debating the merits of whether or not people should have human rights. I want you to feel the same way. Excited to see what comes from this!! Some admin rules: I do a cleanup of members every month - if you haven't attended an event in 3 months then I'll remove you. This is to keep our group a closer-knit (pun intended) community. If you RSVP yes to an event and are a no-show three times, I'll also remove you. This is to give folks who want to actually attend an opportunity to do so!

We have certified Pros in different X-sports fields to guild and help new friends to learn X-sports skills in professional and safe way. Our Group goal? CoEd Team sports organized by postdocs at UCI for graduate students, postdocs and faculty. All skill levels are welcome. We mainly play pick-up soccer games but feel free to request any other sports event (volley ball, tennis etc.). Events will be posted weekly along with the location, date and time.

Whether you have been playing sports all your life, or looking to learn and pick up a sport, this group is for you. It's hard to find just a group of people to play a casual game of basketball, football, tennis, volleyball, any sport you name it. Make friends and socialize through sports and outdoor recreation! We hope to be an fun, active, and friendly group. We have a 3-strike policy. If you are a no-show to 3 events, you will be kicked out. A no-show means not showing up to an event when you RSVP. Disrespect and hate is not tolerated. We are understand trash talk happens in competitive sports so keep it clean and leave it on the court/field! We are an Orange County based community who love to play the sport of Underwater Hockey (UWH), aka OCTOPUSH. Our team name is "OC Octopush" UWH is a unique sport in that it is a version of hockey played at the bottom of a swimming pool. Players must take turns diving down and working as a team score a GOAL! This activity is great dive training, cross-training for other sports and is fun all on it's own! We have 2 weekly drop-in practices so anybody can come in, play and learn the sport! Your first 3 practices are free.... then we have a 10 Pack Punch card system you can sign up for. All the gear is provided, free of charge as you learn the basics! Locksport is a concept and community built around lockpicking, with a wealth of resources, tools, and training gear. There's a lot to take in, and a lot of things to buy. We're trying to give you a guided introduction so that you've got some hands on experience with a variety of locks, tools, and training gear before you buy your own.
