The San Diego Archery House Meetup Group is open to anyone interested in the sport of archery! This class goes over the basics to Traditional/Olympic recurve archery. Classes are taught by Tara, a Nationally Certified Archery Coach, 3X National Champion and former athlete of the US Olympic Training Center. Tara started shooting in 1991, began teaching in 2004 and launched this meet-up group in 2009. This meetup is great for people new to the sport and even those with some archery experience. We also encourage participation and membership in the United States Federation of Sleddog Sports - USFSS, a non-profit which is involved in all dog powered sports, and is the governing body for US Canicross sanctioned races, and the USFSS National Championship. Equipment: Typically the person wears an especially designed waist belt which allows for "hands-free" running, the dog wears a specifically designed/custom-fit harness, and the two are joined by an elastic line that reduces shock to both the person and dog when the dog pulls. For long runs, a hydration pack is recommended for carrying water & nourishment, and other essentials for you & your dog.

Some of us believe that good conversations can foster wonderful friendships, so we like to discuss ideas gleaned from books, movies, cultural events, and adventures near and far. **And some of us like to do both!** *Three things to know before requesting membership:* 1\. We meet mostly for "small\-group" coffees and sometimes for lunch in the Del Mar/Carmel Valley area\. Sometimes we also meet in the UTC\-Encinitas corridor\, and occasionally we meet elsewhere in the county\. 2\. Cordial participation without pecuniary self\-interest is expected at all times\.
