Are you an English student who wants to improve your conversation skills and understand native English speakers better? **Our online classes will give you lots of opportunities to...** * practice your conversation skills * learn new vocabulary, grammar, phrases and slang * listen to native speakers * improve your pronunciation * practice different verb tenses * learn common sentence structures **What do we do in our classes?** * Discuss everyday topics (your day, school, work, hobbies, interests, news) * Watch clips of videos, movies and tv shows; listen to clips of podcasts (sometimes at normal speed, sometimes at slower speed) * Complete activities to help you improve skills that you are struggling with **What you can expect:** * An experienced, friendly and encouraging teacher (a **native English speaker** with a neutral American accent; **15 years of teaching experience**) * **Lots of time to ask questions** about things you don't understand * **Suggested homework** assignments (they are always optional, not required) * To meet other English students of different levels who are as excited to learn English as you are **PLEASE NOTE:** * **There is a fee for this group.** You are allowed to try the classes for free for two weeks. A group that is dedicated to providing unique, sophisticated, and fun social events for the ever-evolving taste and interest of today's bi/lesbian woman of color.

Social activities range from art openings, brunches, plays, movies, poetry readings, yoga, dinner parties, book clubs, after work drinks, outdoor adventures, wine tastings, group travel to DC, Philly, New York, and Toronto, and team sports etc.

NOTE: All bi/lesbian women of color (Black, Latina, South Asian, Asian, and Native American), including all transgender women of color who identify as lesbians, bisexual, and queer, from the tri-state area (NY, NJ, CT) are welcome to join. Because this group serves as one of the few spaces for gay and bisexual women of color, particularly feminine lesbians and bisexual women of color, to socialize free of the forces of racism, sexism, and homophobia, we ask that you do not apply if you are not a woman of color who identifies as a lesbian or bisexual.

CRITERIA: As criteria for membership, all applicants must include a headshot that clearly includes their faces in their profile pictures. Profiles with avatars, non-human subjects, cartoons, or photos that in any way, shape, or form, obscure members' faces will be rejected. Profiles should include members' faces in order to ensure that their profiles are legitimate in order to ensure members' safety. Profiles that do not meet this criteria will be rejected.
