Starting Saturday, Sept 9, 2023 you are invited to join us for our first practice. The team will be practicing Sept- Nov. weather permitting. There will be a great coach who has paddled and steered for 14 yrs in Singapore. You will really learn the sport. This is a great opportunity to get acquainted with dragon boat paddling. The boat, paddles, life vest and instruction are provided. What a great opportunity to be on the water at Lake Acworth, Cauble Park, Acworth, Ga. These practices will take place on SATURDAY's, weather permitting,8:30 am and on the water at 9:00am until 10:00 am. If there is enough interest there will be a 10:30am practice You must sign a waiver at practice before you can paddle. Limited to 22 each day.

Welcome newcomers and seasoned players alike! This meetup group is for fans of volleyball looking to expand their skills, meet new people, and bring joy through this fantastic sport. This group is primarily focused on catering to B-B+ level of play. However, this group has plenty of room to expand towards more levels of play in the future! Location: *501 Wallace Rd, Marietta, GA 30062* Seating is limited and the water from the park is a little warm. Bringing your own water and chair is recommended. Donations will be accepted but not necessary for play. I’ve bought two volleyballs and would like to have a few more for the group to keep the momentum of the game alive. Donations will strictly be invested back into this group ie yearly subscription, volleyball lines, score boards, etc. If you’re unsure of your level of play use the guide below. 👇 Setting: • I can only bump set the ball. (B level) • I have decent hands when it comes to setting (BB). • I can jump set the ball and/or run plays (A/AA) Serving: • I underhand serve or can do a basic overhand serve. B • I overhand serve and can place the ball pretty much where I aim. BB • I can do special kinds of serves - like jump serves A AA Blocking: • I can follow the hitter. B • I'm working on it, but not great yet. BB • I can block, and call what I'm blocking so my partner can cover the rest. A • I can switch up my calls on blocking at the last minute, or recover from a block by still passing it if it lands near me. AA/+ Hitting: • I can hit the ball, but my aim isn't that great. B • I can hit a hard driven ball on a good set. BB • I can hit the ball down, cross court and line. A • I can hit within the 10 foot line. AA

I am currently the leader of Pack 114 Special Scouts. This is made up of boys, girls, men and women with special needs. Nobody ages out of the program and all are welcome. Forsyth County allows us to use an indoor heated pool with a meeting space for our scouts, as well as great use of county facilities such as campgrounds and nature centers.
