Airtoboal Launch League Chicagoland

Joliet, IL

Airtoboal Launch League Chicagoland
Hello, and welcome to the Airtoboal Launch League Chicagoland! 👋🏻😊 Come join the first ever league for the sport of Airtoboal in all world history! 🥇 That is because Airtoboal is a brand new team sport that I have invented that in short involves getting a ball that must mainly be kept in the air into the opponent's goal which is a literal bowl that must be kept on the ground and can only be moved with the feet and legs. Both the ball and both team's bowls can be moved all over the football/soccer sized field at any time during game play.  It involves the necessary skills of speed, stamina, style, quickness, and creativity among others. If you enjoy or are good at any major sport like football, soccer, basketball, volleyball, track and field and others you should love and be good at this sport because of the similarities in skills needed. Here is how I would describe it as in comparison to some other major sports: ⚽️ soccer with a bowl, 🏀 basketball a little lower, 🏒 hockey on grass, 🏐 volleyball on a full field, 🏃🏽‍♂️ track with a ball, 🥍 lacrosse without sticks and more pace, 🥣 tag with props, 🏉 rugby with more variety 🏈 football except more action and less danger, ♟️chess, checkers, monopoly, and risk board game in sport form. The goal is to jump start the sport this summer here in the Chicagoland area and then hopefully see it grow and spread across the country and become a big time competitive and spectator sport. I'm hoping to be able to have a game scheduled almost every Saturday soon. So come join the group and be one of the first ever athletes to be a part of this new, exciting, and unique sport that hopefully has huge potential! 🎊

Southwest Suburbs Girls Night Out Group

Chicago Ridge, IL

Southwest Suburbs Girls Night Out Group
Missing the opportunity for good conversation, laughs that make your belly hurt, and real women who understand you? This Group, generally for women aged 40+ (not a rule; just a guideline -- ages of our Members range from early-40s to late-70s), is for you! Meet some local women, make new friends, and visit with some you've met in the past. We will get together for drinks, dancing, movies, coffee, lunch, dinner, sporting events, wine tastings, spa outings, shopping events, TV show activities, book club and anything else that will be FUN! Both weekend and weekday dates will be chosen... depending on everyone's interests! Our "focus area" is generally from Chicago Ridge to Tinley Park and Blue Island to Plainfield / Shorewood / Joliet -- but, if it's FUN, we are there!!!! THE MOST important thing about this Group is that you KEEP YOUR RSVP "up to date"!!  If you sign up for an event, then have to back out, contact the Event Host for that particular event IMMEDIATELY!!  In many cases, reservations have been made -- or plans determined -- based on the # of yes RSVPs.  \*All "guests" should be women approximately age 35+, unless otherwise noted.\* **\*\**IDEAS AND SUGGESTIONS*\*\* are encouraged and always welcome!! If there is something you would like to do / see / attend, you can bet there is at least one other person who is also interested.** If you join this Group, you must remain "active" in the Group.  What does this mean?  You MUST attend a Girls Night Out event at least 1x every 3 months or you will be removed from the Group. Thanks.

Wikipedia defines Social Clubs as: **Social activities clubs** are a modern combination of several types of clubs and reflect today's more eclectic and varied society. These clubs are centered around the activities available to the club members in the city or area in which the club is located. Some have a traditional clubhouse, bar, or restaurant where members gather; others do not. Events can include a broad range of activities from sporting events and social parties to [ballet](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ballet), arts or [book clubs](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Book_discussion_club). Unlike traditional clubs they are not limited to one kind of event or special interest but include a broad range of events in their monthly calendars. The members choose the events in which the club is going to take part, based upon the changing interests of the members. The members themselves determine the events they will attend of those offered. And so it is.....We are a Social Activities Club......In the truest sense and form. With being a Social Activities Club comes Rules. Mission Statement: To continue to be as engaged and relevant in this stage of our lives as we were leading up to it. By doing so we can continue to learn, to grow, to embrace life in ways that enrich our own and all of those we meet along the way. Vision Statement: To make new friends, share old and new interests and live a life full of activities that are diverse, interesting and fulfilling.

The Fellowship of West Suburban Board Gamers

Bolingbrook, IL

The Fellowship of West Suburban Board Gamers

Come join us for a fun night of gaming! Whether you are a veteran gamer or new to the hobby you are always welcome. If you have no games to contribute for playing that's OK, several of us bring games ranging from the quick and silly like Flux and Poo, to the more popular Carcassonne and Settlers of Catan, and to the more complex economy games like Power Grid and Puerto Rico.

Never heard of the games just mentioned, that's OK, too.  Sometimes we play main-stream games from Chess to Poker. However, we are passionate about our hobby and love to teach new games.  If you will allow us, we would love to introduce you to a whole world of games that are fun, challenging and rewarding.  We have a fairly large library and although we may have our favorites, we are always willing to try something new.  If you own games you would like to play, bring them along.

Our game space may seem a bit unconventional but we have found none better. It is well lit, semi-private and quiet. The tables are adequate for board gaming. The store is open 24 hours so if your up for it, you can game as late as you would like (Some of us are night owls.) You are under no obligation to buy anything, although bottomless fountain drinks are only a dollar with some pennies and you have more reasonably priced food choices then you can shake a stick at wisely. If you are looking for restaurant fare many members go out together after gaming for a late night snack - you, of course, are always welcome.

So come and relax, put the day's worries behind you and lose yourself in a challenging and fun evening with friends around a board gaming table.  We laugh often and are only grumpy occasionally :)

Welcome! We are so happy that you are a part of our community! At Empower, we meet our families and young adults where they are - in their local communities! Feel free to create an event/invitation (approved Volunteers/Mentors over the age of 25)  and be as specific as possible (i.e. date, time, place, age range, type of parent loss, etc.) and we will help you along the way!
