Boston Social Sports and Recreation is a Meetup featuring one day sporting meetups, discounted event tickets, and sports leagues. EventHorizon Endurance Sport

EventHorizon, endurance sport is an all FREE community of endurance enthusiasts of ALL levels. Many of us participate in the sport of triathlon (from sprint to Ironman) so we enjoy running and appreciate the beauty and benefits of all other types of self-propelled motion. The distinguishing benefit of this group is that it is organized by experienced AND Certified Multisport coaches living in the Boston area. There's no agenda or manifesto. We meet up, train, socialize and that's it! EventHorizon is an official Ironman Triathlon club partner for 2013 which means awesome benefits!
We motivate each other and also want to try to have a purely social meetup at least monthly. Whether you just want to get in shape, you're a seasoned athlete, or you want to take a swing at open water swimming, your first full/half marathon, triathlon, or train for a century bike ride; this is the group for you!
Swimmers, cyclists, runners, triathletes, newbies and supporters are all welcome. The organizers seek to partner with Team EnVision, TIMIRCE, Charles River Wheelman (CRW) and other local endurance groups to have well attended meet ups of athletes of a full range of abilities. We have sponsors that were strategically chosen to help endurance enthusiasts mitigate the costs of new equipment, products and apparel.

WHO WE ARE
C&C (Boston Cards and Conversation) is a social networking community in Greater Boston. Founded in 2009, our goal is to get together to do different types of fun activities as a way to socialize and meet new people. We have an active membership that is amazingly diverse, composed of men and women of all ages.
WHAT WE DO
Most events allow members to mingle while playing card games, board games and party games. However, we also play outdoor games and sports too -- like miniature golf, laser tag, pool, bocce, geocaching and more! No matter the event, our members benefit by making connections on a personal and professional level while doing fun activities. Nothing like a game of Apples to Apples to get the conversation rolling!
WHERE WE MEET
We hold about a dozen events a month at locations in the Greater Boston area. We try to make most of our events T-accessible. Some our most common locations are in Boston, Somerville, Medford and Waltham. Outdoor or non-board game events are usually held north of the city.
WHAT MAKES US SPECIAL
Our members say that we provide some of the best events on Meetup. Our events tend to be well organized into order to provide our members a unique experience. Because of social networking focus, we require that all of our members participate in our community. Membership requires approval, and all members agree to follow our group membership policy before joining.
As of July 1, 2012 -- For security reasons, all new member applications must include a face photo of the member (no logos, designs or pictures of cats please!). Incomplete applications will not be accepted.

EAA Chapter 106 - Pilots, Builders, & Aviation Enthusiasts

EAA106 is the largest and one of the most active Experimental Aircraft Association (EAA) chapters in New England (almost 200 members in MA, NH, RI, CT, and beyond). ~1/3 of our members have built or are building their own aircraft, ~1/3 are pilots of production aircraft (including CFIs & ATPs), and many are student pilots, aviation veterans, mechanics, and aviation enthusiasts! We host monthly aviation presentations/seminars covering a wide array of topics, host an annual fly-in with ~ a dozen free seminars, the NorthEast LSA (Light Sport Aircraft) Expo, New England tour stops of EAA's B-17 and 1929 Ford Tri-Motor, fly youth (ages 8-17) for free flight experiences as “Young Eagles”, and award an annual youth scholarship. This meetup is part of the FAN Alliance. The FAN Alliance is a series of related general activitities meetups. The FAN Alliance does not discriminate with the exception that you are expected to be an adult nor do we charge event or membership fees.
