Our career history and experiences are the great unifier- having something to relate to makes the first step easier. I’m creating this group for lonely vets who want a different support system.

People interested in learning or who are active wood carvers should stop by. We meet in the area three times a week. If you are new to carving or wish to learn, we will help you get started. You do not need to bring anything to the first meetings, we will lend you tools and some wood. After that, you can be well set in this hobby for just over $100. Current members (about 25) range in skills from brand new to some of the best carvers in the world. We meet at the Westminster Senior Center, 69 West Main Street (just off route 2) Tuesday evenings from 5 pm to 8 pm and from 9 am until noon on Thursdays. This is a 45-minute long meeting associated with Workaholics Anonymous (WA), a 12-step fellowship. Membership is kept private. This meeting takes place every Tuesday at 8:15 PM eastern time/ 5:15 PM Pacific via ZOOM. This meeting is open to anyone who identifies as a workaholic, suspects they might be a workaholic, struggles with issues of overwork/ work-life balance or with over-commitment or over-activity of any kind. We read from WA literature and take turns sharing our experience, strength and hope. We are a small, very supportive group where everyone always has the opportunity to share and be heard. Newcomers or anyone wishing to learn more are welcome.
