Triangle Intuitives

Triangle Intuitives
🤖⃤ㅤHere's the deal. You're an "N." As an Intuitive you make up the 25% of the population who thinks differently than most people. Not to bash those who prefer to talk about sports ball and the weather, but a lot of your interactions with other people just feel superficial. Sound like you? Great! This is the Meetup for you. 📅 The events we host around the Research Triangle area are meant to serve as a social outlet for MBTI intuitives interested in meeting fellow like-minded intuitives. ℹ️ By "Intuitive" we mean that our group caters to people who test as "Intuitive" on the Myers-Briggs Personality test (MBTI). If the second letter in your 4-letter type is "N," then you are Intuitive. This includes the following types: ENFP, ENTP, INFJ, INTJ, ENFJ, ENTJ, INFP, and INTP. 💡 Intuitives tend to be more figurative (as opposed to literal), more imaginative (as opposed to realistic), more future-focused (as opposed to present), and more abstract (as opposed to concrete). We enjoy talking about concepts, exploring ideas, and having intellectual conversations. 🧠 If you've never taken an MBTI personality test, you can take the [free version of the test on the 16Personalities website](https://www.16personalities.com/free-personality-test) ahead of one of our events (not mandatory, but encouraged). 💬 As a Myers-Briggs minority, it can be more difficult for Intuitive types to find a steady group of like-minded individuals. Our Meetups attract some of the most interesting people and intriguing conversations of any other Meetup in RDU (or so we've been told over the years). Come out to our next social event to make some new friends! There are no expectations. Just show up and have a great time with people that think like you. 👾 Want to share music, plan group events, spam memes, play video games, and interact with other Triangle Intuitives members outside of official events? Twenties Club Raleigh (Age 21-31 social club)

Raleigh, NC

Twenties Club Raleigh (Age 21-31 social club)

The scenario: You are young, probably single without family obligations, and in a new city.  You don't know anyone local from school or growing up. The people at work, where you spend most of your days, are much older than you are. You are uncomfortable checking out new places by yourself. It dawns on you that making friends that you want to meet regularly is not easy. How do people make friends in the real world? It was so much easier in school!

There is a need for a YOUNG group of new college grads and young professionals, the 20 somethings who are in the same life stage. There are other "20s and 30s" groups but those seem to lean more towards the older end of the spectrum and don't properly serve the 20s demographic. If you've recently moved to the area, post-college or for work, and are missing your old friends or having trouble making new ones, this is the group for you! If you've ever wanted to go out and do something only to realize that you don't have other similar aged acquaintances you'd enjoy doing those things with, you found the purpose of this social club.

This is not meant to be a typical meetup group, with lame events, sporadic attendance, and awkward interactions. We started this group to create a network of young professionals in our area that can go do a variety of activities that can be casual and fit into busy schedules. We're looking for people who want to invest in their local community, enrich their social calendar, and get out and do stuff. If things go well, We  hope this will be the only meetup group you need to look at while living in Raleigh.

A few of things we hope to do monthly is happy hours, weekend bar crawls, weekend trips, pickup sports, hiking, boating, paintball, trivia nights, dinners, brunch, concerts, brewery tours, wine tastings, sporting events. You know, typical stuff that people our age like to do.

This is not a dating group, or a singles group, though hopefully some of you can find a special someone if you are looking. Please be mature, kind, open to meeting new people, have some education past high school, and be between the ages of 21 and 31. Invite your friends and lets prove that life after college doesn't have to suck!

Oak City Locksport

Raleigh, NC

Oak City Locksport
**Oak City Locksport** is the original Raleigh area lockpicking group, founded in 2010 by Katie (aka "sq33k"), and led today by Patrick (aka "[unregistered436](https://twitter.com/unregistered436)"). While we are not a [TOOOL](http://toool.us) chapter, we were fostered by the TOOOL US president Deviant Ollam, and we remain friends to this day. We meet once a month to pick locks, share interesting locks or projects, and have a beer with friends. Check out our [YouTube Channel!](https://www.youtube.com/OakCityLocksport) We're focused on fun and education! We welcome newcomers to this hobby, and are more than willing to teach the basics to get you started. There are no startup costs or membership fees, though we won't refuse the occasional donation to replace damaged items or expand the collection. We have some "community" locks and picks so there is no need to bring anything to your first meetups, but most people end up buying their own picks once they're hooked! Most people pick up this hobby because locks are like little metal puzzles. It's useful to learn about the relative security (or insecurity) of the locks we use in everyday life. There are many different variations of the saying, but "Locks are for honest people". A real criminal is more likely to break a window, use bolt cutters, or crash through a door. Besides our Meetups you might also find us running the Lockpick Village at regional security conferences such as CackalackyCon or BSidesRDU. Is learning to pick locks and possessing lock picks legal in the state of North Carolina? You bet! BUT, you've got to make sure to follow a few simple rules: \ • Do not pick a lock you rely upon. The lock may be damaged in your practice and stop functioning. \ • Do not pick a lock you do not own unless given explicit permission. Always warn the owner that it's possible damage may occur. \ • Do not offer services or receive compensation for picking a lock unless you are licensed as a Locksmith in the state of North Carolina (NC GS 74F). \ • Use your powers for good, not evil. Do not share your skills with those you suspect will lockpick to commit a crime. Also note that possession of lock picks with intent to break into a home or business is escalated up to a Class I Felony (NC GS 14-55). See our Wiki for lockpicking references and information on the lock library that members have access to ([https://oakcitylocksport.com/](https://oakcitylocksport.com/)) We can also be found on Twitter at [@oakcitylocks](https://twitter.com/oakcitylocks). **Note:** While this is a public Meetup, we reserve the right to ask participants to leave if they are disrespectful, disruptive, disreputable. Yeah, we'll "dis" you.

Triangle Off Road Cyclists (TORC)

Cary, NC

Triangle Off Road Cyclists (TORC)
**Promoting – Building – Maintaining** Triangle Off-Road Cyclists (TORC) is a nonprofit volunteer organization (501) (C) (3) dedicated to safeguarding the future of mountain biking in the Triangle area of North Carolina through the promotion of responsible riding, establishment and maintenance of mountain biking trails, and preservation of North Carolina’s natural resources. TORC is the Triangle area chapter of Southern Off-Road Bicycle Association (SORBA) and was founded in August 2005. Prior to TORC’s formation, the Triangle’s mountain bike community had been served by individual mountain bike clubs whose focus was limited to a specific trail network. TORC was formed to unify the region’s smaller clubs into a stronger voice for local mountain bikers.   Thank you for those that have joined.  TORC is becoming a stronger and stronger influence within the Triangle NC area.  The bigger our numbers and the larger pool of leaders and volunteers to draw from, directly means more success in our area for more trails and happier land managers/owners.  Please look at the big picture for our local mountain bike advocacy efforts and join and volunteer to help.                         If you haven’t already joined, for as little as $39 a year you could be a member of TORC, SORBA and the International Mountain Biking Association (IMBA). Visit [www.torc-nc.org](http://www.torc-nc.org). ![](https://secure.meetupstatic.com/photos/event/c/4/8/8/event_267710312.jpeg) An important part of promoting the sport of mountain biking is extending a welcome to everybody who is enthusiastic and interested in the sport. We offer rides, clinics, and events to accommodate people with all skill levels and the advancement of off-road cycling throughout the Triangle. ![](https://secure.meetupstatic.com/photos/event/c/5/f/0/event_267710672.jpeg) We schedule trail workdays throughout the year to build new trail or maintain existing singletrack. Check our events calendar and volunteer at a trail near you! Trail workdays are essential events for TORC and the local mountain biking community at large. They ensure new trail gets built, existing trail remains sustainable, and that we maintain strong relationships with local public and private land managers. ![](https://secure.meetupstatic.com/photos/event/c/7/1/c/event_267710972.jpeg) ![](https://secure.meetupstatic.com/photos/event/c/8/7/a/event_267711322.jpeg) TORC’s races are a great way to meet other local mountain bikers and compete.  TORC holds several races per year. Each race usually has multiple categories, so that you can compete with others at your skill level as individuals or as a team. ![](https://secure.meetupstatic.com/photos/event/c/f/d/c/event_267713212.jpeg) New trail development (and maintenance of existing trails) is important to the preservation of open space and encourages a healthy lifestyle for bikers of all ages. As dedicated stewards of the environment, TORC employs the International Mountain Biking Association’s (IMBA) trail-building best practices. ![](https://secure.meetupstatic.com/photos/event/d/1/1/c/event_267713532.jpeg) TORC has built strong relationships with Park and Recreation Departments in Wake, Durham, and Orange counties. We also have working relationships with private land developers. These partnerships provide local mountain bikers with opportunities for trail access while protecting the future of existing trails. TORC holds local group rides nearly year-round throughout the various trails for all different skills levels, with beginner rides being some of our most popular. These rides allow participants to meet new people, learn new skills and trail systems, and have fun. Keep an eye on our event calendar - visit [http://www.meetup.com/torc-nc#calendar](http://www.meetup.com/torc-nc#calendar).
