Locally owned and operated in northern New Jersey, No Idea Sports (NIS) was created in 2009 for active professionals looking for an after-work outlet. With year-round team and individual registrations available, we provide a wide range of co-ed sports leagues for every level of play that include - but are not limited to - dodge ball, kickball, basketball, volleyball, softball, soccer, and flag football. 

Following the games, our sponsor bars provide drinks and food for teams or individuals to socialize and meet other players. NIS also offers various social events and tournaments throughout the year. Sorry Newport NJ members, but since the move away from Jersey City this group has been transformed to the Monroe Township NJ sports & recreation meetup. Calling all sports aficionados who are passionate to play any of the below sports/games: Tennis Cricket Pickle ball Badminton Please join and drop a line indicating your interest and your level. I am keen to participate in any sport, though the above would be great ones to start with. The idea is to play these on a somewhat regular schedule (not a frenetic schedule for sure) and for fun (though we can graduate to some friendly competitive matches later). Anyone in or within commuting distance of Monroe Township can join. Those close to Fairways to Forsgate community will be right next door!

We will be meeting at various parks/venues throughout Central Jersey for recreational level "gym class" type sports and other activities such as (but not limited to) softball, tennis, flag football, dodgeball, kickball, beach volleyball, biking, hiking, kayaking, trivia, and movie making! The general location of the meetups will be between Edison and Bridgewater (with a few down the shore). **Welcome to the 21st Century Scientific Wing Chun Initiative!** *We are a diverse and tight-knit community that started in New Jersey back in 2017, but now we have 8 communities that spans 5 states, 2 universities, both coasts, and we even have locations in other countries and continents!* **We are practitioners of a martial art called Wing Chun**, which came from Southern China 200+ years ago that is supposedly named after a woman of the same name. The martial art became incredibly popular in Hong Kong in the 20th century through notable figures like *Ip Man* and *Wong Shun Leung*, and reached global fame when *Bruce Lee* and other action stars brought it into the limelight. **Wing Chun focuses on efficiency and economy of motion**. It is far less of a style and much more a systematic way of moving, thinking, and learning. It is a robust skillset that is designed to maximize whatever build or background you have when it comes to martial arts and self defense. **You do not need to be a specific type of person to do martial arts**. What we do isn't geared towards going into combat sports where you're going to be fighting another person for 5-12 rounds. We simply teach you how to use your body to generate force and speed effectively, so that you can get out of whatever situation you may or may not find yourself in when living your normal day-to-day life. We like to have fun, joke around, and hang out before and after class. While Wing Chun certainly isn't a joke, there's no point if you're not having fun and making friends. **Wing Chun is a very misunderstood martial art**. A lot of misinformation has been spreading since the 80s at the height of its popularity. Many schools around the world teach Wing Chun in ways that make it highly ineffective. Because of this, our mission is to teach Wing Chun empirically and scientifically. Wing Chun, when taught correctly, is easily one of the best martial arts for real-world use in existence. When taught incorrectly, it's probably the worst thing you can waste your time on. *If you have had a bad experience with Wing Chun previously, please consider checking us out. **What drew me to this group was its simplicity. Guys mostly in their 30s/40s/50s meeting up and hanging out. (fleshed out a bit further below)** 1. I want to let the group decide how this takes shape, but I would say we should exclude discussion of politics (for obvious reasons) and sports (plenty of other opportunities to talk sports). Anything else is probably fair game. Mostly we're going to hangout. 2. We're definitely NOT going skydiving, biking or anything else that involves burning too many calories. (Actually probably no activities that can't comfortably be done while drinking a beverage, whether it's alcoholic or not.) 3. This is NOT for professional networking.
