I'll be hosting a writing group at Deja Brew Cafe at Richmond Hill every Thursday night from 6 pm to 8 pm. Writing tends to be a solitary hobby and this group is here to bring the social element to it. Make sure to buy some coffee and some food to support the business. All writers are welcome to work on their stories, scripts, poetry, journaling, and anything related to writing. We're a supportive space to help each other form or gain back discipline for whatever piece of writing you're working on. If you have difficulty maintaining focus and commitments or going on and off with the piece you want to complete, this is the place for you to break through your writer's block. Adress: 102-10 Jamaica Ave, Richmond Hill, NY 11418 How sprints are done: 1. We start with a 5-minute sprint to get any writing down as quickly as possible to get into the writing mood. 2. After the first sprint, we introduce ourselves to the group and what we are working on today. 3. Next, we have a 25-minute sprint in silence to avoid disturbing anyone during that time. 4. Once the sprint is done, we take a 10-minute break and talk about what we are working on, what books you've been reading, or you could talk about something completely different if you like. It is a break after all, so use it however you want. 5. 3 and 4 repeat until we end near 8 pm, around when the cafe is about to close.

A lot of you may know me for doing fitness and wine & food tastings. I picked up a new hobby that I really enjoy that I think a lot of you would enjoy either by competing or spectating.

At one time in your life I bet you have played a game of darts. I would go on to say you probably had a fun time doing it. I want to create events that will bring everyone together from beginners to experienced league plays that will get everyone involved in the fun. I know people who have played beer pong that pick up darts every quickly.

Typical dart tournaments only the people that win get a prize. I want to experiment with ways that will allow everyone a chance to win and participate in the fun.

SOCCER FOR FUN

Welcome to SOCCER FOR FUN! We are a Co-Ed Adult Soccer Club for those who love the game of soccer and are searching for a friendly and exciting atmosphere to enjoy it. Our players' skills range from beginners to more advanced players that enjoy playing more relaxed games than those found in competitive leagues.

Our games will be held primarily at Raymond O'Conner Park 33rd Avenue & Corporal Kennedy St. Bayside NY 11361 or at Alley Pond Sports Center Park located at corner of Union Turnpike and Winchester Blvd, Queens Village (79-20 Winchester Blvd, Queens Village, NY 11427) starting at 9:00 AM sharp! Members should always check the site for any updates on the venue and times. We will host various games from small pug games to big field 11 v. 11 games to exciting tournaments throughout the year. In addition to our weekly games from time to time we will host other events such as attending professional soccer matches, viewing sporting events at local pubs, annual BBQ and so on.

Code of Conduct

· Never be disrespectful to other players or opponents

· Foul language will be frowned upon and unacceptable

· Obey the RSVP rules

Rules of Play

· Slide tackling, high kicks or rough play strictly prohibited

· Penalties in the box if intentional are taken otherwise kicks are always indirect (except during a tournament)

· Not all games will have referees so please respect any call made by any player on the field. All disputes will be settled by your Team Captain.

RSVP Rules

If you sign up and make a team for the game you are expected at the field ready, willing and able to play. All Members can update their RSVP before teams are posted the night before the game. If you fail to update timely or to show up at a game you will not be permitted to sign up for the next two weeks. If you fail to show twice you will not be able to sign up for two months. This rule is enforced in order to get the players on the field that want to play especially if there is a waiting list. Any and all emergencies will be taken under consideration and any last minute drops if you notify your organizers we will try to get a replacement player for the game thereby preventing a no show. Our goal is to have full games each week and getting as many members on the field as possible.

Our Club’s mission is to provide a warm, friendly and safe environment for players to come and enjoy Soccer.
