Westchester Fencing Meetup

Scarsdale, NY

Westchester Fencing Meetup

The Westchester Fencing Meetup help introduce you to the sport of fencing.

Fencing is active in both Section I public high schools as well as in the independent school league.

You can start a club at your elementary or middle school and we'll be happy to get you started!

Did you know there will be fencing at the Summer Olympics!

Masks must be worn at all times by students and coaches and USFA fencing safety rules will be observed at all times.  Our staff will enforce the safety rules.  All participants must have a valid USFA membership ( $15 non-competitive is valid Aug 1 - July 31) or sign a trial waiver.  https://www.usafencing.org/membership

For those wishing to excel in fencing, seek help to train to make the cut on high school teams or enter a more competitive fencing venue, we train high school varsity and NCAA athletes.

We also teach theatrical fencing, which is entirely different from sport fencing since the receive of the attack controls all the movement!

If you know an inexpensive venue, or are part of an organization which want to schedule classes, we'd be happy to inspect your site.   We prefer indoor gyms or meeting rooms without pillar and ceilings 12 feet or more.  Outdoor locations in fair weather are great!

We are the most friendly fencing fellowship in Westchester. Come join us!

Rockland Ultimate Frisbee Meetup Group

Nyack, NY

Rockland Ultimate Frisbee Meetup Group
Having lots of fun while meeting new people and getting some great exercise through the amazing sport of ULTIMATE FRISBEE This group is geared around the 20s/30s age bracket, but anyone who wants to play hard is invited.
No experience necessary...just know how to throw and catch a frisbee AND run! Easy game...we'll go over the basic rules and you'll catch on by playing. Feel free to invite friends and family by indicating guests on your RSVP!
Always bring a white & dark shirt, water, cleats, and sunscreen (if necessary). We play rain or shine (except for Lightning). Our pick-up games usually last ~ 2 hours.
We also ask our members to make a suggested annual donation of $10. If you're a regular, this works out to <$0.14 per Meetup, so a pretty good deal. This money helps cover incidental costs of running this group (e.g. monthly fee for MeetUp website, In-house tournament provisions & equipment, etc). PayPal option available.
Finally, make sure to download the Meetup Mobile App for IOS or Android. Makes it much easier to rsvp or check for last min changes due to weather, etc. Please note that in planning these Meetups, we look for a minimum of 10 people (if we don't get that, we will cancel - so please make sure to RSVP if you ARE planning on attending).
