Philadelphia, PA

The Sporting Club at the Bellevue Pickleball
Welcome to The Sporting Club at the Bellevue's Pickleball group! This is a private group for current and former members. The main purpose of this group is to give Sporting Club members a way to organize play at the club.  With so many available times to play throughout the week sometimes you just never know if anyone is playing.  I get it, and I think it’s a good “problem” to have.  Hopefully this Meetup group can help alleviate that and allow you all to communicate and see who’s playing.  Eventually we can find times to just allow Beginner play. Maybe even Advanced times too!   Some rules/etiquette/thoughts: -Court 1 is closest to entrance of hallway.  Court 2 is center court.  Court 3 is furthest away closer to the Golf Pavilion. -Whichever team is closest to the hallway serves first. -Games are to 11.  Would love to give incentive for winner’s to be able to stay on and play 2, then sit.  All new 4 then comes in. -No one should be playing more than 2 games in a row when others are waiting -That being said, if you just played a long competitive match, and 8 or 10+ people are waiting to play, instead of playing your 2nd match in a row because you won, do you sit and bring on a whole new 4?  Your call to make, but I think the “waiting” members would love that.  Remember you’re going to also be “waiting” at some point. -Please try to incorporate other members to switch up matches if possible. -Try and respectfully coincide with basketball members.  We’re all members of this great club and trying to utilize the courts as best as we can.  -We can’t make everyone happy, but I’d like to try. -Always know there are things you can be working on in your game, even if you end up “playing down” with lower skilled members.  Lower skilled members appreciate being able to play with higher skilled members because it helps them get better. -I’d like to get 2 permanent Beginner/Intermediate clinics on the schedule.  Only 1hr.  Members are loving it and more clinics! -Do we have interest in an Intermediate+/Advanced clinic?  It would mostly be focused on drilling, strategy, and advanced techniques.  I would name it "Drills and Skills". It has a nice ring to it! Let me know. -Dinking and Banging can both be exhilarating! -HAVE FUN!     That’s all I have for now. I’m open to your feedback and suggestions.  I appreciate you all for being here and playing this great sport we all love!   Sincerely, Arnold (your resident “do you need a 4th”) Director of Athletics PPR Certified Pickleball Instructor

Fun Football Folks

Flag Football? You bet! Click "read more" and read this paragraph in its entirety.

Just a bunch of fun people getting together to play flag football. We play on the Colonial Middle School Football Field and the field is great for cleats or just sneakers. All skill levels are welcome and we recommend anyone to come out for fun and exercise.

The games are shared with the Valley Forge Sports Recreation Group and there are no fees for playing.

But with this pandemic, we must say that since this is a sport with contact, you participate at your own risk. We do not know if it is safe or even a good idea to play so soon. We are not recommending it. It is your decision to take that risk.

So for the legalese:

Pickleball in Upper Dublin, Lower Moreland and More!

Ambler, PA

Pickleball in Upper Dublin, Lower Moreland and More!
Looking for a fun, relaxed Pickleball group. Join us in the Upper Dublin and Upper/Lower Moreland areas of North Wales, Ambler, Maple Glen, Horsham and more! Free to play. No host. Join an already posted time or post a time and see if others can join. See you soon my fellow pickleball friends. You are encouraged to bring water, a paddle, and a chair. All levels are welcome. See event details for more level of play details specific to that event. Those attending are very welcoming, friendly, and encouraging. Please keep in mind that the courts used for this MeetUp group are public and not reserved. Others from the public may attend. Signing up via this Meetup is not required nor a guarantee of court space. General suggested guidelines are to let those who are waiting play next. Prioritize those who have just shown up and haven't played yet. If you have played two, be extra willing to let others play next, even if you have won both. Some courts have a winners stay on for two games policy. Some have paddle up systems where you can put your paddle in line so those waiting the longest play next. There may be no official host at these sessions. In the event of no host, some in attendance may step up to help guide who plays next and organize. Those who are reported as not being encouraging and cooperative may be removed from this Meetup group. These events are free, but donations to cover the Meetup fees and additional pickleball equipement are appreciated. Suggested donation is $20/year. Donations are accepted by the group host Sarah Harkleroad in cash at an event. Venmo, paypal, etc. are available. Ask Sarah for details in person. Looking for other Pickleball options in the area? Try these out: 1. **Horsham Township** has a Meetup group. See the Township or Meetup details on how to join the group. All events are at courts behind the Horsham Police Station. Eight courts are available; some are brand new. Great parking, wind breaks, picnic benches for breaks, etc. There are some times that are open to the public, where membership is not required. See the Township/Meetup for these days and times. 2. **Upper Dublin Sports Center**: Fee required. They post events on Meetup but require that you download and use their own app: Upper Dublin Sports Center. They have indoor and outdoor courts. Events are moderated by a Pro. The Pro helps group similar-level players together. 3\. Some pickleball courts in the area: **Mason Mills** at 3500 Masons Mill Rd, Willow Grove, PA 19090 (almost always busy with players of all levels), **Three Tuns Park** at 1548 Cooper Dr. in Ambler, Henry Lee Willet Park at 1791 **Twining Road** in Willow Grove, **Aidenn Lair Park** in Dresher/Maple Glen, and **Riccardi Park** at [232 Hendricks St, Ambler, PA](https://www.mapquest.com/us/pennsylvania/riccardi-park-434681167) (4 courts but no play before 8am per township rules). **Water Tower Recreation Center (Chestnut Hill)** at 209 E Hartwell Ln, Philadelphia, PA 19118 has 8 free outdoor courts. Competition is intermediate to advanced. The courts have summer hours which are Monday - Friday 4pm - 8pm and Saturday 9am - 5pm. 5\. Explore the website https://**playtimescheduler**.com/ especially the Hatfield-Lansdale area (use the Globe icon to see the list of areas). The Singles Spark: 50+ Meetup, hosted in King of Prussia to start, is geared towards creating engaging and enjoyable experiences for mature singles over 50 looking to connect. The meetup will be a combination of mingling, a mix of dancing, trivia, compatibility Q&A, Name That Tune, sports trivia (to attract more guys!, and “celebrity who’s sexier”, all aimed at fostering interactions and compatibility among attendees. These events are enhanced by professional DJ services (DJ Paul, me!) ensuring a lively and welcoming atmosphere conducive to making new friends or finding a romantic interest. The focus on compatibility and shared interests makes it an exceptional choice for mature singles desiring a fun, engaging social scene. Because the venue needs to be rented, there will be a modest ticket fee to enter, but remember, the goal is to enjoy an occasional evening out and perhaps meet a special someone. From the website, [Singles Spark](https://www.nusparkpartydj.com/singles-spark/) • No alcohol; there’s other events for that. This is about meeting people, and enjoying top-notch entertainment and dancing as well, plus other games and activities. • Typical time will be either a Friday or Saturday 8p-11p. • Ideal structure: 9 20-minute segments- 5 for pure mingling with music background. 4 for interactive fun and gameplay. Always subject to change. • King of Prussia is an ideal 1st location anyway- easy to get to from most suburban counties. Also [on the website](https://www.nusparkpartydj.com/singles-spark/), enter our alert database via text or email, to get updates on events, especially as we grow and plan the 1st one. As the meetup builds, I will be planning events, but for now, sign-up. And keep in mind the intent; do not be shy if you connect with someone. Ask him or her out, or at least make a friend. Ready?
