**Playing Sports Again (with friends!!)** is looking for people in their 30s-50s who want to build new friendships with others while participating in sports leagues (volleyball, kickball, softball, pickle ball, etc) and other recreational sports. Many of us played sports in the past but life got in the way and we miss it. This is a great group for those who would like to get back out there and play again! Although this group will be sports and activity focused, it is also a social group that may look to do some other things as well. We usually all get together after a game, share a drink and have a good laugh. We plan on trying hard and enjoying the activities we do, but this is not an ultra competitive group. Welcome Pickleball Players! We're a Tennis Center that offers Outdoor & Indoor Open Pickleball Play. No membership required. All skill levels are welcome.

If you enjoy being on the water whether it be the lake, ocean, bay, or river, this group is for you. For stand up paddlers, kayakers, surfers, and all water sport enthusiasts, this is the place to meet others who enjoy being on the water. Most paddles are exploratory covering approximately 5 miles or more conditions permitting. Experienced and non-experienced welcome, depending on the event. Some events are held where rentals are available while others require you to bring your own gear; rented off-site or owned.

4. Posted event times will be the meet time. Allow sufficient time for parking, unloading, and journey prep (ie bathroom, sunscreen, snack, etc) to be ready for timely departure. 

5. Inflatable kayaks such as Intex are not recommended for most outings. In past experiences, they have difficulty keeping pace with the group and navigating, especially in breezy conditions.

Assalamu alaikum! This is a muslim foodies group with occasional hangouts in and around the Philly burbs. I see a lot of meetup groups tailored towards 20 to early 30somethings, and I have personally found it tough to connect with a younger crowd who are not in the same life stage as me, thus I wanted to make this group specifically for like-minded 35 to 45 year olds 🙂. Plus there aren’t a lot of Muslims where I live, so there’s that. You can expect meetups at a variety of local restaurants, bakeries, cafes etc, some halal and some not halal (specifically serving non-halal certified beef, chicken, etc) so I’ll be sure to specify in the event details. There may be some live cooking demos & classes, picnics, food festivals, walking market tours, and farm/orchard visits too. In addition to foodie adventures you can expect hanging out at parks, sports stadiums, bowling alleys, recreation centers, escape rooms, archery, painting, pottery, movies, fairs, theater performances, art exhibits, etc which may require going into Philly. I intend to keep the number of attendees per event fairly small (5-10 people + waitlist) so that everyone can get to know each other as comfortably as possible without feeling overwhelmed (just trying to look out for my socially anxious brothers and sisters 😉). This should go without saying but, please let’s be respectful and considerate of each other. If you need to cancel attendance for an event please select Not Going as early as possible so that those on the waitlist can get a chance to attend in your place. Wearing a name tag allows us to greet each other and call each other by our names. Name tags will be provided by our club. **Origin Story** LBPC came from the mind and heart of Laurell (Lau-rell), who wanted to introduce pickleball to everyone she met and to create a space where everyone was welcome, **especially beginners**.   Laurell first learned about pickleball from a colleague at work during teacher appreciation week in May 2021. Via zoom, her colleague, shared the rules and her passion for the game and invited Laurell to play pickleball the next day in Willingboro, NJ.   After her first time playing, (about two hours of pickleball) Laurell was hooked. The following day, Sunday, she was measuring her side yard and researching what it would cost to put in a home pickleball court. Being not the most *realistic* and *affordable* plan, Laurell knew she had to find a way to create a place where anyone could walk onto a court and learn about pickleball in Lower Bucks County.   Laurell then introduced her friend Karen to pickleball. She sent her a text that Monday and they arranged for Karen to learn about the sport about a week later. Karen also became hooked, and they teamed up to help spread their love for the game. It wasn’t long, a month later, before the two started a Facebook group and a handful of players joined. From people already playing at Firefighters Park, to people who walked their dogs by the courts, to anyone else who was curious about the game – Laurell drew them in and the group grew.   But, Laurell had a larger vision – she hoped to have more people playing more often, and to have courts reserved for pickleballers. So, Laurell and Karen expanded the group to Meetup (Aug 21, 2021).   And, that was when we realized just how many pickleball lovers were in the Lower Bucks and surrounding areas. Within two months, the Meetup grew to more than 150 members, and the courts were filled for every event we schedule.   So, we’re glad you’re here. We are an active group of single adults between 65 and 79 years old. Annual dues are $10 with a 60 day free trial. This is an activity group and not a dating site. Our activities include brunches, day trips, dances, dinners, live music, movies, sports and theater. We have traveled to Costa Rica, Yellowstone, the Bahamas, Aruba and Ireland. Hi, and thank you for your interest in the 30+ singles group. I created this group for 30 and up since, based on my life experience, various people have various preferences so... I didn't want to limit our opportunity to meet people we relate to or might be interested in meeting. My intent for starting this group is to help extend our social network with the hopes of finding new friends and possibly form relationships. I'm sure there are various reasons each of us have as to why our social lives and interactions with others has decreased. In my case, I've been working remotely for almost 3.5 years. Covid obviously has had a significant impact on all of our lives. In addition to friends getting married over the years and a very dear friend of mine passing suddenly last year, a large portion of my social life was my work environment. I still have good friends I met at past jobs. Since working from home, that has not been an option. I'd rather not get into specifics. I prefer to leave that open for discussion when we meet at our events. There, we can all share our experiences, challenges, and hopefully provide valuable suggestions with each other. PhillyBUG is a meetup for Philadelphia area Blender 3D hobbyists, beginners and professionals to learn, practice, and collaborate in their enthusiasm for 3D art, craft and commerce. 3D can be a solitary hobby - no need to toil alone - connect with like-minded Blenderheads and share what you're working on, swap tips, ask (and answer!) questions.
