Sistas & Sports
Where my sistas at that love the NFL, college football, or both? Want to catch some games on the big screen but don't always want to watch it with the fellas? Well let's Meetup and catch a game or two with other sistas who love sports! We'll meet at local sports bars and even plan some trips to catch a game in a stadium. Doesn't matter who your favorite team is...I'm a Cowboys & Husker fan, we can still talk 'ish, make friendly bets and cheer each other's teams on. Football season is upon us but if you want to connect to watch another sport, let us know. We can always learn about others and have a good time. Baseball and golf, ehhh, I might have to sit those out! But Baseball in person ain't so bad! I will go swing a club at a driving range or Top Golf though! LOL **Outing Rules:** * Keep it respectful. We want the energy to keep things live but always remember, we're out to have a great time, make new friends, laugh and have fun. * Please only RSVP if you will be attending a function. If your plans change, update your RSVP. The organizer will most likely have to reserve a table where allowed, so accurate counts will be important. Life happens but multiple no-shows may cause you to be suspended or removed from the group. * You can be mad your team lost and talk trash when it's winning, but we must always be kind to each other. * Please drink responsibly. Your safety is important to us, so please understand that the organizer will confiscate your keys if you've had too much and order you an Uber or Lyft home. So if you already know how you toss 'em back...make arrangements.

Texas Rock Climbing

Austin, TX

Texas Rock Climbing

Texas Rock Climbing is a group of friends from all over Texas that get together to go climbing.  Several different Texas Rock Climbing mailing lists and Meetup Groups have been combined here to provide one central place for Texas Rock Climbers to get plugged into the community.

We welcome EVERYONE and have events for aspiring climbers, beginners, sport, trad, and multi-pitch climbers.

Most of the time we climb at crags in Texas but we often organize trips to other states and countries.

We hope to continue to centralize and strengthen the many small regional climbing groups and create a central location where climbers can find climbing partners, gatherings and trips.

We help with the replacement of old climbing hardware to ensure the safety of Texas climbing.

We are active in opening new climbing areas and maintaining the ones that we have.

Join us on Meetup here to see what's coming up!

Stoic Fathers of Austin (private men's group)

Austin, TX

Stoic Fathers of Austin (private men's group)
**BRAND NEW GROUP!!! ACCEPTING APPLICATIONS NOW!!!** [Click here to Apply](https://forms.gle/6go3wzcBzPvopwSF7) Good fathers can change the world. To be a good father, one must be a good man. To be a good man, one must live as Nature requires. Nature requires that a man become the most virtuous version of himself so he can best serve his family, community, and the world. The timeless wisdom of Stoicism illuminates the path toward accomplishing this goal. **Who are we?** At SFOA, we are building a tight-knit local crew of like-minded dudes who are equally committed to personal growth, serving our families, becoming better Stoics, and helping each other reach our full potential as human beings and as men. Today, philosophy has become little more than dry academic banter among "intellectuals" on college campuses and reddit threads. However, 2,000 years ago, Stoic philosophy was a "team sport." Men would get together in small groups of beginners and seasoned practitioners alike, to discuss the deepest topics of life and help each other become better men. Stoicism is not about theory, its about practice. We are bringing this back. **What do we do?** Through small group discussions, social get-togethers, and 1 on 1 sessions, we go deep on the most important issues in life. In the process, we forge deep bonds and friendships as we learn from each other and share what has worked for us. We hold weekly virtual discussion sessions on a wide variety of topics which generally take aim at applying Stoic principles and exercises to everyday challenges that we face as men and dads. Some discussions will be high level and philosophical, others will be tightly focused on tangible outcomes related to things like fitness, nutrition, finance, kids education, forming solid habits, etc. We will periodically bring in outside speakers to share their knowledge with us. We also hold monthly and periodic social meetups where we will have the opportunity to get together in person to hang out and get to know each other. Some events will be for members only. For other events, we will encourage you to bring the whole family. At SFOA we are building brotherhood, fellowship, and a supportive network of likeminded families! We do something called "lunch roulette" which is where we will randomly match up different group members to facilitate opportunities to go out and meet each other for lunch, coffee, workout, cigars, etc. RELATIONSHIPS ARE MASSIVELY IMPORTANT HERE!!! We are in the business of building lifelong friendships. **What are the requirements to join?** You must be a man over 25 years old who is either a father or planning to be a father within the next 2 years. You should have a genuine interest in Stoicism. You don't need to have any deep prior knowledge or academic background. Just show up with an open mind and a willingness to learn. You need to have a team-oriented mindset. Be committed to showing up consistently and always think about how you can give back to the group and help your fellow teammates. **Is someone going to try to sell me something?** Nope. You can't sell brotherhood. You can only forge it through shared experience. **How do I join?** [Click this link](https://forms.gle/6go3wzcBzPvopwSF7). Fill out the screener application. Someone will reach out to you to set up a brief zoom call. This provides a quick opportunity to connect "in real life" and answer any questions you may have. Provided both you and SFOA leadership still want to move forward, you will be provided access to our private chat group and be added to the full event calendar so you can join your first meeting and be welcomed into the brotherhood. LET'S GOOOO!!!!!!!!
