I will spread events across other meetup groups to bump up attendance. For as you know, . . . sometimes people don't show up. Some Organizers get really bent out of shape about that. I do however know that life happens. Even if it's 10 mins before the event. Just change your rsvp. No worries. No harm-no foul. There is not any sort strikes or penalty system, and there is nobody keeping score. The exception will be if it is listed as a "no flake" event. On those you gotta give good notice of changes. It's about fun and community. What I have found is that by being mellow and and having good events more show up. We tend to have 80% or more attendance. I approach with compassion. So if you don't make one event or another. . . try and make it to the next, or the one after that. When you do make it, .. . . we will be glad you are there and all are welcome.  Here are the basics of group rules.  Do NOT contact members who you have not met in real life.  Avoid Put Downs. HOWEVER the main organizers may request you change either name or photo a their discretion. **About Cottonwood Co-Ed Adult Soccer Group** Welcome to the Cottonwood Co-Ed Adult Soccer Group, where the love for soccer brings together a diverse community of approximately 140 adults aged 18 to 60. Our league operates on a "pay to play" model, and we're open to individuals of all skill levels and backgrounds. Men and women, those with college or high school experience, and even newcomers to the sport are all part of our inclusive family. Some of us are coaches of youth teams who want to join in on the action rather than just watching from the sidelines. Our group values sportsmanship and a friendly competitive spirit. The player you're facing off against one week might become your teammate the next. Slide tackles and any risky moves that could lead to collisions or injuries are not allowed. We encourage a welcoming atmosphere for new members. When the weather permits, which is most of the year in Utah (minus snow and lightning), we play outdoors. During winter months when the field is covered in snow, we offer indoor "Futsal" style sessions until we can get back to the open field. With over 150 sessions annually, you'll have approximately 3 opportunities per week to get on the field and play. **Important Notes:** * **Payment Requirement:** Only paid members are allowed to participate in our games. These rules are designed to ensure an organized, fair, and enjoyable experience for everyone involved. Please take the time to familiarize yourself with these guidelines: **General Gameplay Rules:** 1. **Play Safely:** Refrain from slide tackles, avoid challenging from behind, be cautious with headers, and give goalkeepers ample space. Prioritize the safety of all players. 2. **Promote Fun:** When playing against less experienced players, show sportsmanship by easing off slightly, allowing them to make passes. Ensure everyone has a good time. 3. **Fair Play:** We operate on a call-your-own-fouls basis. Whether you committed the foul or were fouled, be honest in making the call. For certain situations like out of bounds and off-sides, let the play continue unless it's blatantly obvious. When a call is made, respect it. Remember, it's all about enjoying the game. **Consequences for Rule Violations:** The league organizers reserve the right to take action against those who don't adhere to these rules. If any physical altercation or excessive arguing disrupts the game, both involved parties might be suspended. Repeated suspensions can lead to a yellow card or further penalties. **Registration and Fees:** Full registration spans from September to September, with additional registration periods every 3 months. Consequences are outlined for those who don't comply, so please read on. * A "No Show" is failing to appear despite RSVPing "yes", arriving late, or dropping out after RSVPs close. Changing your RSVP is possible until 3 pm on weekdays or 9 pm the night before weekend morning games. * A "crasher" is someone not on the "yes" list who shows up hoping to play. If you're on the waitlist, keep an eye on your status. Two exceptions to "No Show" are being slightly late (within 15 minutes) with prior notice or a real last-minute emergency. Please don't misuse these exceptions. * If a crasher takes your spot when teams are about to start, you lose your position. Arriving 15 minutes early and checking in is vital. * In case of an emergency and you are unable to attach notify an organizer of the situation. * If you are unable to attend after RSVP closes it is on you to find a replacement.  You can reach out to someone on the waitlist and comment if they are taking your spot.  Do not post a general comment in the event for someone to take your spot as this causes a larger issue in the open forum. **Consequences for No-Shows:** * 1 No Show = 1 Yellow Card: For a month, you're on "crasher" status, not allowed to RSVP "yes" but can play if space permits. Your No Show Yellow Card stays for 3 months; a second yellow in that time results in a red card. * You can work off a yellow card by refereeing or running lines for 1/2 an outdoor game or an hour during indoor sessions. Continued abuse leads to a red card upon a subsequent no-show within 3 months. * A Second Yellow Card within 3 months of the first = Red Card: You're suspended for a month and on "crasher" status for two additional months. **Cumulative Yellow's Policy:** 2 yellow cards within 3 months, even if worked off, result in a red card. **Red Card:** ·         You will be suspended from play for 1 month and not welcome to play.  For the following 2 months you will be on “crasher” status and can play only if the game is not full. ·         A red card can also be handed out for disciplinary actions.  This will be made by consensus of the organizers. **Second Red Card in a Year:** You're suspended from play for 4 months and on "crasher" status for an additional 4 months. **Player Priority Order:** 1. RSVP'd players who arrive on time or notify of a slight delay. 2. Paid waitlist players who show up on time. 3. Paid players on the waitlist who show up on time. 4. **Welcome to Progressive Singles Over 50!** Over Progressive Singles over 50 is one of the largest and most active SOCIAL GROUPS in the Salt Lake City area. Our purpose is to provide our members with opportunities to go to various places, experience a variety of activities and have fun with other like-minded people 50+ years old. We have something for everyone; dining out, volleyball, bowling, clubs, dance lessons, sporting events, concerts, camping, Wendover trips and many more activities. **MEMBER DUES: $3.00 PER YEAR** **AGE REQUIREMENT** · You must be 50 years of age or older to join. The following policies are in place so that everyone has a fun and safe experience. **MEMBERSHIP REQUIREMENTS**  • You must be 50 years of age or older to join. Children are invited only to events that are listed as family friendly.  • You must be single. **YOUR PROFILE/PHOTO**  • You are required to answer all questions. • You are required to have and maintain a recognizable picture of yourself. Failure to do so may result in being removed from the group. If you are an existing member you are also required to answer the questions and post a recognizable photo of yourself. There are two reasons we ask for photos. First, we have many events hosted in someone's home and for their safety, we want to be able to account for everyone invited into their home. Also, it's so that an organizer of an event can find you, especially in a busy venue. You are required to follow these rules. If you do not, we will have to delete you from the group. However, we would welcome you to rejoin when you can post your picture and answer the questions. **MEMBER CONDUCT**  • Private Residence Events  o If you attend a Meetup at a private residence, please be respectful of our host. Do not linger at their home after others have left. Do not go into any part of the home that we have not been invited.  • Posting on the site  o This site is an activities site only for the Progressive Singles Over 50 Meetup group. You are not allowed to advertise a business or product. It is not allowed to advertise for another Meetup group or organization. Do not use the site for personal messages to others. If you’d like to send an email intended for one person (that is not a solicitation), you should go to their profile and click on the email link.  • Solicitation and/or harassment  o Solicitation and/or harassment of any kind will not be allowed. Improper behavior, language, communication, be it personal or electronic, will not be tolerated. Do not send emails to other members that you do not know. If you’d like to get to know someone, I suggest going to Meetups and get to know everyone. If a member says “no” to anything, it means NO. Reports of harassment are taken seriously and may result in being permanently removed from the group. **RSVPs**  • RSVP “YES”  o We ask that you RSVP “yes” only when you are sure you’ll be attending the event.  o It is not appropriate to attend an event without RSVP’ing “yes”. There is often limited space and attendees that are not on the RSVP list and still show up may not be able to participate with the group. • RSVP “NO”  o It is not necessary to respond with a “no” unless you are changing your RSVP from “yes”. • WAIT LIST  o Most events with limited spots will have a wait list available and as member’s plans change and they change their RSVP to “no”, those on the wait list will move up into the available spots in order of when they RSVP’d. • NO SHOWS  o The Meetup website keeps track of “no shows”. Your profile will list the number of times you were a “no show” which means you RSVP’d “yes” for an event and did not show up and did not cancel. You will also be considered a “no show” if you cancel within one hour of the event (unless specified in the event). We understand that life happens…this will be looked at on a case by case basis.  o If you are a no-show to an event which has a wait-list (someone on the wait-list was not able to come because you did not cancel), you will not be allowed to come for 3 months to any event which has people on a wait-list at the time the event occurs. GUESTS  • Some Meetups will have no limitations on guests while others may limit to just one or two. This depends on the type of event and the space available.  • You are responsible for your guest. If your guest does not show and you have not changed your RSVP from a +1, that will be considered a “no show” for you. • If you want to bring a guest that is not at least 50 years old, you must get approval from the organizer. **TICKETS**  • Most of the Meetups are free. However, some events will require payment in advance such as a concert. Most of those will require you to pay via PayPal when you RSVP for that Meetup. There will be no refunds unless the Meetup event is canceled. By participating in any of our activities, you agree that you do so at your own risk and you assume all responsibility. You also agree to release and discharge Meetup and its organizers from any and all claims or causes of action, known or unknown. Your membership is at the discretion of the Organizers and can be revoked at any time for violation of these policies.
