Boomer Women w/ Time & Sense of Humor, a Member Driven Group
**Hello Baby Boom Era Ladies!**   **Here we are in a post-pandemic world. You might be feeling a bit disconnected and wanting some new adventures!  Let’s connect with other women and create new memories and experiences!  The entire Bay Area is alive with interesting things to do!  At the end of this intro I will list some ideas for the Meet-Ups to get your creative juices flowing.  Keep in mind that many are still very cautious as the virus is still with us and there might be some Meet-Ups where a mask is a good idea or required.  At other events, it’s your option.**       **I set this group up in a way that EVERY MEMBER is an organizer, not just me the founder.  What that means is that every member can do exactly what I can do and plan a Meet-Up and be its host!  It’s so easy to do!  Pick the event and location.  Select the time and date.  Type up an explanation of what it is.  You may set a limit on how many may attend.  People will sign up.  If you put a limit on attendees, people can be put on a wait list.  After you’ve created your event it will be emailed to all members!    It’s truly easy to do this – very few tech skills are required.**   **Periodically, we may have a ZOOM meeting where we can meet and greet, brainstorm ideas for Meet-Ups, and talk about whatever comes up!**   **And always – bring your sense of humor!  Bring your sense of adventure and interest in meeting others.  Who knows, you may make a new life-long friend or three!  Do you need to be an outgoing extrovert?  Absolutely, no!  Introvert/shy members are in a safe place.  If you are the more quiet type who likes intimate conversations, limit the number of attendees to your Meet-Up or pick events that suit you.**   **A few “rules.”** * **If you RSVP to attend a Meet-Up, don’t be a flake. No-shows will be marked as such.  You must be considerate of the time and effort the host and other members have made for this event.** * * **Three no-shows will have you removed from the group.** * * **We know that emergencies come up.  Please give 24 hours notice for your cancellation, which allows some on the wait list to be added as “going.”** * * **Zero tolerance for any form of bigotry or hateful speech.** * **This group is for WOMEN ONLY!  Every now and then a man signs up. Believe me, he will be removed from the group.** **Here are some ideas to help you create Meet-Ups:** **Meet-ups can be indoors or outdoors** **Weekdays or weekends** **Gather at a local café** **Gather at a local dive-bar** **Lunch and a walk** **Organize a beach or neighborhood trash clean-up** **Listen to music** **Nature walks** **Birding** **Plant wildflower seeds** **Museums** **Comedy clubs** **Readings at book stores** **Pot-lucks** **Tea parties** **Cocktail parties** **Wine tasting** **Chocolate tastings or other foodie tastings** **Plan a Meet-Up to celebrate YOU on your birthday** **Gather on a holiday with others who might be alone** **See how easy that is! I know you’ve got ideas. You’ve got people, places and things which our members/your soon to be new friends will enjoy.** **I look forward to meeting you!** **Linda Greenberg**

Shuffle Speed Dating - San Francisco, CA

San Francisco, CA

Shuffle Speed Dating - San Francisco, CA
*[New events coming soon. Subscribe to the email list.](https://forms.gle/1G4q2MYwarDi9tM79)* ***You MUST purchase tickets for entry using the link in the event description. RSVP on Meetup is NOT necessary (it does not give you a spot in the event and is not an accurate representation of the participation list).*** There’s a new & better way to date: [Shuffle Dating](www.shuffle.dating/sanfrancisco) **How it works:** You simply show up and follow instructions via your phone. We notify you what time your date(s) starts. We tell you who you’ll be dating – yes, you find them! We give you a prompt to guide your conversation. You tell us (via text) if you want to Match! (M) your date, or Pass (P) on them. Repeat. **Casual dress code.** **Prompts.** → Dress to impress? We don’t think so. Instead, just be comfortable. Show up in whatever you like to normally wear, whether that’s your Sunday-morning sweats, your favorite snapback, everyday hoodie, or business casual – it’s totally up to you. No expectations, just be comfortable 🙂. → You’ll be on multiple, short(ish) dates – don’t waste that precious time on formalities! You can catch-up on details later if you both match. Instead, spend your 10-minutes engaging in interesting, in-depth conversation using the prompts that we provide you. This way, you’ll have a great time with each date regardless of the outcome. **9 rounds.** **Longer conversations.** → Events are limited to 9 rounds. We believe that this is a sufficient number of rounds to meet a variety of people while avoiding burnout. → While we offer a smaller number of rounds than traditional speed dating events, we provide more time per round – usually around 10 minutes. This gives participants time to dive into an actual conversation and get to know one another, as opposed to the usual 3-5 minute rounds in traditional speed-dating events. **FAQ** **What is your cancellation/no-show policy? [SERIOUS]** * Due to the nature of our events, every turnout is critical to the success and experience for all participants. Please read our policy below. * Cancellations are non-refundable. Only in special cases such as family emergencies, sickness, or work-related issues will we refund your cancellation (not including the service fee), and this is ONLY if we are notified 72-hours or more in advance of the event. If you decide to cancel, you MUST let us know. Again, cancellations within 72-hours of the start of the event will NOT be refunded for any reason, no exception. * No-shows are extremely detrimental to the quality of our events. If you do not show up without any notice or reasoning, you will be charged an additional $50 and may be permanently banned from participating in all future events. We take this extremely seriously because the quality of our events rely on participants showing up. Please let us know if you have any questions regarding this. * Leaving in the middle of an event will be considered a no-show. **What are the ground-rules? [SERIOUS – PLEASE READ]** Safety * We take the safety of our participants as our number one priority. As our events do not have any physical host present, we coordinate with the venue and their staff to help facilitate an environment that ensures safety and confidence among all participants. Please read below for what is expected of you (as the participant) during our event: * You are expected to interact with other participants respectfully while maintaining appropriate boundaries. You will NOT share or provoke personally sensitive information (contact, address, etc.). You will NOT engage with other participants that harms or makes them feel uncomfortable in any way. * If you are made to feel uncomfortable by any participant, you will have the ability to report to us immediately. * If the event is held at a venue that serves alcohol, you are expected to moderate your alcohol intake so that you can participate in our event without any complication to the other participants, staff, or anyone else at the venue. Matching * Your contact information will not be shared with any participants at our events UNLESS you have a successful match. In the case of a successful match (you and the other participant indicate "M" for each other), then we will share your contact information (email, cell-phone number) ONLY with each other after the event. Shuffle is not responsible for any and all interactions beyond and outside of its events. DISCLAIMER OF RESPONSIBILITY * While Shuffle coordinates to maintain a safe environment, the company cannot guarantee 100% safety when using its service. By using Shuffle, you will interact with other participants face-to-face, interact with 3rd party venues and its staff, and potentially interact with non-participants. The company does not conduct a background check on its participants. * Under no circumstances will Shuffle or its affiliates be liable for any damages or harm that may occur to the participant through its services. Shuffle assumes no responsibilities whatsoever for any damages caused to Participants, Non-Participants, Staff, or any Affiliate, of or by any product or service provided by Shuffle. **What happens if there is an uneven number of participants?** * We ask all participants for confirmation 1-hour prior to the start of the event. For example, if your event starts at 12pm, we text you at 11am asking for confirmation. By 11:30am, we finalize the list of participants for that Shuffle. If there is an imbalance of participants, then we introduce “break-rounds” to substitute for a dating-round. * Example: 8 men and 6 women confirm they will participate. The men will each have 6 dates and 2 “break-round” – the women will each have 8 dates. **I’m 30 years-old but would rather register for the 31-41 bracket. Am I allowed to?** * Yes! If you are 2 or less years removed from the next age bracket, you are welcome to register for it. So for example, if you are 29 and wish to register for the 31-41 bracket, you are welcome to do so. Likewise, if you are 43 and wish to register for the 31-41 bracket, you may do so as well. **Are there breaks in-between dates?** * You get roughly 5-minutes in-between dates (to rate your previous date and to find your next one), so you have plenty of time to go to the restroom or order a(nother) coffee/drink. With that said, we encourage you to show up to the venue early to accommodate for these. **My date and I found each other a bit early. Can we just start chatting?** * Yes! If you and your date find each other a few minutes early, just start chatting away. **I wasn’t able to get a match.** * You absolutely should not feel down or discouraged! Because the events are limited to 5 dates, it is entirely possible to leave the event without a successful match. You still take away valuable experience and hopefully, fun and interesting conversations. We encourage you to attend more Shuffle's as you are bound to find matches along the way. **So I give someone a Match! [M]. Now what?** * Your dates will never see your responses. Instead, if you have successfully matched with a date (both indicated an [M]), we will share your numbers with each other within 24 hours after the event. **Do I need to keep my phone on the entire time?** * It isn’t necessary, but we highly encourage you to do so. Since we use text notifications to moderate the entire event, you will be engaging with your phone quite often. We recommend you to leave notifications, vibration, and even sound on so you can react accordingly to our notifications in a timely manner. **Will my phone automatically subscribe to Shuffle?** * When you sign up to a Shuffle, we will ask for your permission to send you text notifications leading up to and throughout the event. However, once the event is over, you will no longer receive notifications from us. Questions, comments, concerns? Feedback??? Please contact us! sf@shuffle.dating

*Every Trail* : Bay Area Hiking and Outdoor Activities Group

San Francisco, CA

*Every Trail* : Bay Area Hiking and Outdoor Activities Group
Every Trail is a Bay Area outdoors activities group. Our focus is on hiking, but we also want to branch out to other activities like backpacking, kayaking, river rafting, etc. from time to time. This is a social group: our goal is to build a community of kind, generous people who share their love of the outdoors with each other. We are an inclusive group and we welcome members of all ages from multiple races and ethnicities, different countries of origin, and varied gender and sexual identities. Every Trail is a volunteer organization: the event hosts and organizers all donate their time without expectation of compensation. **Code of Conduct** Note: you can also [read the Code of Conduct here](https://docs.google.com/document/d/1y5Jcx2NMut9BadoGdqv7M4Rh_yeB9QnvRpFqxuULOLY). Be kind to everyone. This includes other Every Trail members, event hosts and organizers, park personnel, and other hikers you encounter on the trail.  Every Trail events are a good way to make new friends and strengthen existing friendships;  please, avoid inflammatory and divisive subjects of conversation at events.  Join hikes that you can safely complete while maintaining a reasonable pace (\~ 2.5 miles an hour, usually). You are the best judge of your hiking abilities. Never expect event hosts or other hikers to walk slower than their natural pace to keep you company. Familiarize yourself with hike routes and use apps like [AllTrails](https://www.alltrails.com) to guide you on the trail. Remember, it is your responsibility - not the responsibility of the event host or other hikers - to ensure that you stay on the trail and don’t get lost. Treat the trails with respect and follow [Leave no Trace principles](https://www.fws.gov/project/leave-no-trace-principles). Dispose of waste properly (“pack it in, pack it out”), and leave rocks, plants and other natural objects as you find them. Follow all park rules and respect posted signs; respect private property and hike only in permissible areas. When on the trails, let nature do all the talking. Silence all electronic devices. Avoid yelling, and keep your voices at a reasonable level. Your fellow hikers - and the wildlife around you - will appreciate this.  Stay on the trail. Going off trail can damage or kill certain plant or animal species, and it can hurt the ecosystems that surround the trail. Bring dogs only on trails that explicitly allow them (service dogs are generally permitted on most trails). The presence of dogs must never diminish the experience for other hikers or for wildlife. Dogs must always be on a leash. **LEGAL DISCLAIMER:** The hosts of Every Trail events are not hiking professionals; we have no wilderness expertise and we are not trained medical professionals. When you join this group,  you assume full responsibility for your own personal safety. We are only responsible for organizing hiking events; we cannot know what hike will be appropriate for your fitness level.  Please understand your own physical ability and join hikes that you can comfortably and safely undertake. If you have medical issues that could affect your ability to participate in any Every Trail event, please consult with your doctor. By signing up for any event organized by Every Trail, you acknowledge that you are aware of the risks and dangers associated with any organized activity and you assume all such risks and dangers. Further, you agree to release and discharge the Administrators, Event Hosts, Organizers or any other Every Trail members from all liability. For safety reasons, you must have a recent profile photo clearly showing your face.
