What we’re about
We are a sub-group of the Rocky Mountain AI Interest Group focused on the Fort Collins area.
Our emphasis is on creating an inclusive space and bringing diverse perspectives regarding AI as it affects key facets of the Fort Collins Community, as well as society in general. Whether you are a seasoned AI engineer, or trying to find out what AI even is, we endeavor to create a space where all are welcome.

When collaboration between AI and humanity is discussed, the idea is usually floated as either a 50/50 or leaning heavily towards AI usage. You see this position often discussed amongst business moguls and engineering leads making headway for maximizing throughput and profitability. But what if the focus was on how AI can support humans instead? What if that 50/50 was instead leaning towards humans at the forefront? And what can AI do for you in your community today?
This session will highlight several perspectives within the community of Fort Collins, CO that are doing exactly this: supporting humans with AI. There are problems within the community today that AI can solve. While we won't have all the answers this evening, we'll have an amazing handful of speakers that will discuss holistic wellbeing, food scarcity, and other prevalent issues that we are experiencing today in Fort Collins that can (and are!) being navigated with generative AI. Attendees will walk away with a better understanding of how AI can be used within the community, regardless of your background in engineering.
Our lineup for this evening includes:
- Kris Monkou @ The Whole Being Coach
- Kevin Lyons @ FoodBridge

More on the event and why we're tackling this topic:
Pandora's box has been opened. With the release of tools like ChatGPT, Claude, Gemini, Midjourney, and countless others, promises of profits, efficiency, democratization, and "human flourishing" from technologists and corporations are abundant.
Despite these promises, creative professionals face an uncertain future where their jobs, intellectual property, and artistic integrity are at risk. Creatives are being left out of important conversations about how these powerful tools should be built and used. Fort Collins has a thriving creative community of musicians, visual artists, writers, designers, and countless others who need practical knowledge, ways to protect themselves, and a stronger voice in shaping this transformation.
Through this project we've dubbed “No Prompt Needed," we are dedicating our platform and resources at Fort Collins AI to supporting the Fort Collins creative community through meaningful partnership and opportunities.
