Through biblical references (Colossians 3:4, Romans 8:6, and 1 Corinthians 2:14-16), the message contrasts a mind set on Christ with a mind set on earthly things. A believer who aligns their thoughts with Christ can receive spiritual revelations, guidance, and peace, whereas those who focus on self and worldly reasoning experience spiritual disconnection.
Illustrative examples include a sales associate who obeyed God’s prompting to give to his church and later received an unexpected inheritance, and a non-believing Jewish colleague who expressed interest in learning more about faith. The message highlights that non-believers can only receive the revelation of their need for salvation, whereas believers must continually seek revelation from Christ.
Three key revelations come from setting one’s mind on Christ:
- Knowing – Believers can access Christ’s wisdom and understand spiritual matters beyond human reasoning.
- Doing – Actions should be guided by the Spirit, not merely by human judgment of good and evil.
- Seeing – Setting the mind on Christ allows believers to discern both divine and worldly influences.
The message concludes with an encouragement for believers to seek daily revelation from Christ, listen to His voice, and follow His guidance rather than relying on their own understanding.
