Wouldn’t you like to have:

• a place to go to on a night that usually has not much happening?
• time to talk to fellow members to get to know them better?
• a place to ask questions about how meetup or our group works, (esp. tech stuff)?
• suggest events or learn more about what's going on in the group?
• all in loose, informal settings fostering sharing amongst attendees.

We’re launching a new type of event:

• just hanging out on a regular basis,
• getting to know each other better,
• sharing information or event ideas.

Frequency Bi-Monthly and locations:
Once on a Tuesday, in Bridgewater
Once on a Monday, in Mountainside

I’ll launch in Mountainside at Echo Tap and Grill.

For this event at Echo Grill, refreshments: drinks are individually purchased at the bar (20% tip as it's a group reservation). For those who wish to have appetizers or dinner, there will be some tables avialable and the check will be in groups of 4.

Walking Days
Location: Duke Island Park, 191 Old York Rd, Bridgewater
Short Loop 2.8 miles graded as Easy by All Trails. Robyn Co will lead the group to see the sights and changing colors of the leaves.

Setting: In Bridgewater, Duke Island Park is a site of rich natural beauty ….. Truly an "island" park, it is traversed by the historic Raritan Power Canal. (Website excerpt)

Meeting spot: Parking lot across from the Visitors Center, restrooms available.

A few general guidelines:
- we’ll wait for 10 minutes after the posted start time for late comers, if you arrive after that time: post you've arrived than please try to catch up with the group.
-if there is a forecast for rain please check the comments on this page for updates as to whether or not the walk will take place- it will be updated no later than 1 hour before the walk (usually much earlier)

Concept for Walking Days
Do you like to or would you like to walk more? Sharing the walk with others? Talking and exploring new places - Yes? Get more steps in? Then join us on Walking Days! "Walking Days" will be in different locations, towns and venues to increase flexibility, interest, easier scheduling and to give members closer access to go on walks.

The plan is to schedule regular weekly/biweekly walks of varying lengths- 1 to 3 miles in a variety of places that offer easy walking venues. Parks, towns, ponds, lakes, etc. to explore new places. Locations will vary for interest and to be fair to the wider group to have walks closer to locations where members live so you don't always have to drive far. The pace will be not be power walking but rather at a slight fast stroll. Afterwards, join us for coffee/tea or a cold drink to chat.

This is a great opportunity to stretch your legs, meet new people, and enjoy the outdoors. Free unless it’s has a vendor or nominal entrance fee.

Event host Renee has agreed to lead the walk around the grounds (this is her third time leading walks for us at Duke Farms- thank you Renee!)

This event is a wonderful opportunity to connect, unwind, and embrace the serenity of Duke Farms. It has sights such as: a manmade waterfall (currently under repair), meditation field, Orchid house, Watch Tower and a Sculpture Garden and rolling meadows come together to create a tranquil escape from our busy lives. Estimate length of walk: 2.5 miles.

Whether you're a seasoned walker or simply looking to enjoy the outdoors, the trails at Duke Farms are suitable for all levels of fitness. We can split into multiple groups to accommodate as many as we can within the Duke Farms policy.

There's a cafe in the visitors building. We can grab a coffee or lunch there as we regroup to go on with our day. Much of the food is grown onsite or locally sourced with light lunch offerings (e.g., sandwiches, salads, bakery treats, etc.). No outside food is permitted.

This has been a very popular walk in the past - in the event of a large waitlist we will work on creating more walks to accommodate as many as we can.

Here's a chance to immerse yourself in the beauty of the natural world while enjoying the company of like-minded women.

First timers to Duke Farms I recommend coming early or staying afterwards to hear a 10-15 minute film on the history and goals of Duke Farms. It is shown in the main visitor building on a continual loop.
