Spatial Ops is a mixed reality multiplayer shooter developed by Resolution Games that transforms your physical space into a virtual battlefield. We are experiencing an interesting time in the gaming industry, where the cost of making games rises yearly. Players are questioning the price of games, and developers are responding by making them bigger than ever. It appears, however, that there is a hidden problem here. Despite paying full price, players churn out and do not complete their games. Meanwhile, the challenge of designing games for increased player retention is being addressed by live-service games but being mostly ignored by non-live-service games. In this talk, Feras discusses the challenge the industry is facing, its potential causes and some solutions, including how resolving player retention problems in non-live service games could be an effective way to ensure players enjoy finishing their games and benefit from the content the developers have worked hard on without needlessly increasing the game's size and cost.
19:30 Mingle and last beer at Resolution Games
20:30 Continue the mingle at a nearby pub.
