What we’re about
(If you see a donation banner above, please disregard this Meetup imposition.)
This group will bring gay men together to discuss spirituality and spiritual practices while building a community of brothers.
Throughout history we gay men have held special roles in society including among others: shamans/priests, revolutionaries/justice-peace warriors, healers, teachers, artists, musicians, actors and jesters. Our ability to connect with both Divine Masculine and Divine Feminine energies allows us to live balanced lives integrating hardness/strength and softness/nurturance.
We will discuss such topics as coming out spiritually, our relationship to the Universe, our vocations in the world, oppression/sacred activism, loneliness, addictions, community, the male body, masculinity, homo-eroticism in world cultures and religions, personality types, fathers, childhood trauma, gay relationship pitfalls and tips, the intersection of sexuality and spirituality, and physical, emotional and cosmic sex.
We will explore spiritual practices from various world cultures such as meditation, breath-work, dance, qigong, tantra, inner alchemy, devotion, prayer and contemplation. All of this will take place in an atmosphere of mutual respect and celebration of diversity (without any proselytizing.)
This group is open to men of all races, ages, and spiritual/religious beliefs (agnostic, atheist, or theist) who identify as being sexually attracted to men. Your entire queer self is welcome here!
