What we’re about
The purpose for this group is to build community for women in the seven cities (Norfolk, Va Beach, Chesapeake, Suffolk, Portsmouth, Hampton, Newport News) beyond the lesbian bar scene. This is an inclusive group of women of all ages and backgrounds who identify as gay, lesbian, bisexual and transgendered (male to female.)
Over the past 12 years we have evolved into an amazing group of women who enjoy having fun. Whether its rock-n-roll bowling, go-karting, having a cook out at the beach, playing games at a party, or getting together for dinner and great conversation, this group has something for everyone! If you're looking for friends or a potential mate in a relaxed, come-as-you-are atmosphere, this is it! A few notes to potential members, this is not a dating website. That doesn't mean you won't meet and fall in love, get married and live happily ever after...but when posting your profile pic and your introduction, bear the previous in mind!
Also, it would great if you would post a picture of yourself. We want to be able to find you at Meetups! If we don't know who you are, we can't ever say hi! Request for new membership with no picture at all will be denied. Also, please use your name. Nicknames or screen names make it difficult to recognize members! If you do not use your real name all will be denied. We want this to be a safe space. There have been at times men requesting to be members. Once accepted into this meetup you have 6 months to take part or host a meetup. If meetup shows you have not been active then your will be removed. If you have any questions feel free to contact me.
