What we’re about
The vision of NVC Geneva (Nonviolent Communication Geneva) is to support connection, harmony and alternatives to violence at the personal, community and global level.
In various ways, we unite and inspire each other to effectively support access to NVC to the international community in and around Geneva.
We will study and apply together Nonviolent Communication (NVC) in English.
This is a revolutionary way of relating authentically with yourself and others through building consciousness around: Empathy and Self-Empathy, Compassion, Emotional Freedom, Self-Expression among others essential elements!
The goal is to grow our capacity to communicate and exist in Truth from the Heart.

General introduction:
Creating a group dedicated to the book gives us an opportunity to make space for discussions whilst reading together. It aims to support a deeper learning and understanding of the NVC language, which we believe will enrich the learning process in life and indeed in situations which we would like to compassionately communicate with others.
Through previous sessions, we learnt that it was important to meet the current needs of participants. As we continue to evolve the group and journey through the book together, we would like to invite participants to share anything that resonates when reading passages in the book. Understandably we may therefore share more than we read in some sessions. This can also serve as to guide and prepare us for online and/or live sessions with a co-facilitator.
Afternoon sessions are weekly on a Monday afternoon at 15:15
Evening sessions are fortnightly on a Tuesday evening at 20:00
On Tuesdays, the schedules are according to our collective inspirations, starting with:
• 20:00 check-in

***General introduction:
In a listening circle, you may share in security and without judgment: your inner thoughts, and possibly those parts that are hurt, anxious, overwhelmed ─ as well as keep silent.
A listening circle is a free space, but does not aim at advising or solving problems. It is not a space for interaction or feedback, or questions-answers either. It is difficult to describe such an experience. Rather than telling about it, you are encouraged to experiment.
To help with the practical set-up, registration here is welcome although not mandatory ─ just come and be willing to welcome the others' speech, their realm and emotion, without counselling or consoling. The schedule is:
• 19:50 Technical tests (useful if you're not familiar with the videoconferencing tool Zoom), welcome, short Q&A (useful if this is your first contact and need anything before the experience)
• 20:00 Circle starts
• 21:00 Closing of the circlePractical information:
Optional donation is 5+ CHF for the expenses of the room, Zoom, Meetup, website and NVC Geneva, you may find details here: http://NVCGeneva.ch/giving
Wear comfy clothes, as we sit on cushions and mats.

4 attendees [IN-PERSON] Implementing Nonviolence in the Systems in Which We Live
3DD Espace de Concertation, Rue David Dufour, Geneva, Geneva, CHA Nonviolent Communication Workshop 1-2 November (9:00-12:00 & 13:30-17:30)
With Marco Bertaglia and Senovio Shish
This is a workshop on Nonviolent Communication (NVC) as developed by Marshall Rosenberg.NVC was created to enable a more peaceful world, to transition from systems of domination to systems of full collaboration where all needs of all people are cared for. Along the journey of systems change, nonviolent agents of change can expect to encounter a range of responses from within domination paradigms they seek to change. This workshop is intended to support further integration of NVC to reconnect with greater resilience and hope for bringing about systems that work for all.
We will work in very practical ways to enhance our resilience and ability to work with and within groups, in ways that support togetherness, choice and shared power.
Among themes that we will deepen the following are included:
- dialogical systems
- support
- mourning the gap between vision and reality
- group facilitation
- an economy that works for all?To care for space and resource planning, please complete your registration information at this link.
About Marco:
For over 25 years I’ve been a trainer in Nonviolent Communication, mediator, and facilitator of group processes. My journey with NVC began in 2000 and has profoundly transformed my life, including years of direct learning with Marshall Rosenberg. I work with and for children, couples, families, communities, ecovillages, and organizations, offering personal coaching and trainings inspired by the gift economy. My work weaves communication, community, and social transformation in the spirit of nonviolence envisioned by Gandhi and Martin Luther King Jr. Read more at https://www.cnvc.org/trainers/marco-bertagliaAbout Senovio:
I was raised with values of peace, justice, truth-telling and deep listening as a practicing Quaker (Religious Society of Friends) since childhood. While engaging in anti-racism work, I found Nonviolent Communication in 2018 with the NVC Geneva practice group, and felt a profound resonance with my values. I am committed to systems change through community-building as a way of responding to the crisis of violence among humans and the threat of collapse of the global ecosystem. I include non-human animals in my peace efforts, and have practiced veganism since 2019. I am currently a candidate to become a certified trainer with CNVC.5 attendees
