Georgia Nature Photographers Association is dedicated to helping nature photographers of all skill levels improve their photography, learn and grow, network with outdoor photographers and participate in exciting trips and events. Through our work, we share our appreciation for the natural world and spotlight the value of nature as a photography special interest.
Our goal is to become the Southeast’s premier nature photography club, and we welcome your help guiding and molding GNPA into the amazing future ahead.

Description:
How do we plan, take and process Milky Way images? What phone and desktop apps are available for planning? Which equipment is necessary to capture the images and which may improve your success? Can you process your images with common photography software or do you need specialized ones? How do you compose, composite and stack your images? We will explore all of these aspects to make enjoyable photographs of the Milky Way.Speaker Bio:
A protein chemist by training, Ümit is a scientist and an inventor who worked as a research scientist both in academia and industry. He authored 24 research & 14 review articles in peer reviewed publications and has 11 US Patents. Currently semi-retired enjoying his hobbies.
As self-taught photographer he enjoys the photographic process as much as the end result. Photographic interests are nature-at-large: from macro to astro and all creatures in-between. He is long time, active member of Cobb Photographic Society where he held various leadership positions including presidency, and a GNPA member since its founding and its current vice-president.
He has led workshops in astrophotography, macrophotography, and color management. He regularly participates in group exhibits with CPS and participated in the 2-year touring exhibition titled Nature’s Generosity by Wilderness Photography Foundation.We plan to showcase your photos on the TV in the meeting room prior to the speaker presentation. By noon, the day of the meeting please upload up to two nature photos that you have taken on the following link.
