In American cinema, Blaxploitation is the film subgenre of action movie derived from the exploitation film genre in the early 1970s, consequent to the combined cultural momentum of the Black civil rights movement, the black power movement, and the Black Panther Party, political and sociological circumstances that facilitated Black artists reclaiming their power of the Representation of the Black ethnic identity in the arts.
Join us for a screening of a classic Blaxploitation movie. We'll vote on the night of a movie to watch, some suggestions are:
The movie will start at 7:30pm but join us from 7pm for a glass of wine or cup of tea and lets chat about classic Blaxploitation movies.
There will be time afterwards to stay and discuss the movie if you'd like.

The event is completely free, and open to all. There are free teas and coffees and you are welcome to bring your own snacks and drinks (alcoholic drinks are fine too!).
