Dear Running Enthusiasts,
Are you ready to embark on a unique and exhilarating running adventure under the night sky? We cordially invite you to our night time running event that will take you from the charming Ogden Point to the picturesque Clover Point in beautiful Victoria. This event promises to offer a one-of-a-kind experience, allowing you to enjoy the city's waterfront in a whole new light while getting a great workout.
The starting point of the run is at Ogden Point, a vibrant hub known for its stunning views of the Inner Harbour and the Salish Sea. We will meet in the front of Breakwater Cafe and do warm up together first. The route will follow the scenic Dallas Road waterfront, where you'll be treated to breathtaking sights of the illuminated marinas, the gentle waves lapping against the shore, and the twinkling lights of the city in the background. As you make your way towards Clover Point, you'll pass by some of Victoria's most iconic landmarks. Once you reach Clover Point, you'll take a short break to soak in the panoramic views before heading back to Ogden Point along the same route. The total distance of the round trip is approximately 6 kilometers.
- Warm Up Thoroughly: A proper warm-up is essential, especially when running at night. Make sure to stretch all the major muscle groups and do some dynamic exercises to get your blood flowing.
- Pace Yourself: Don't start too fast! It's easy to get excited at the beginning of the run, but it's important to pace yourself and maintain a steady speed. If you feel tired, slow down or take a short walk break.
- Stay Hydrated: Even though it might be cooler at night, you can still sweat and lose fluids. Make sure to drink plenty of water before, during, and after the run.
- Enjoy the Experience: Finally, remember to enjoy the experience! Take in the beautiful views of the city at night, soak up the atmosphere, and have fun with your fellow runners.
- Post-run Refreshments and Socializing: Head to the post-run area to enjoy some delicious refreshments, such as water, sports drinks, fruits, and energy bars. This is also a great opportunity to mingle with other runners, share your experiences, and make new friends.
The event will be canceled during unpredictable weather conditions, such as heavy rain, strong winds, thunderstorms, or extreme temperatures. The safety and well-being of our participants are our top priorities.
