Welcome serious and casual board gamers a like!
Having done the rounds in board game community, I noticed that board game groups can be intimidating to join; so I created this group with the intention of being welcoming to new and experienced board gamers alike!
My philosophy is that at the end of the day, board gaming is about making connections and having fun!
How it works:
I found that not all gamers are looking for the same type of experience on any given night; for that reason, there will be two sides of the room:
- The 'Foxes' table is for players who are looking for more complex and competitive board games
- The 'Otters' table is for players who are looking for more beginner friendly and 'go with the flow' board games
Doors open at 630pm, game starts at 7:00pm
Your host, Scott, buys 2 XL pizza every session, the remainder is potluck style for both food and games!
- Snacks: Bring any snacks you'd like to share [the household is trying to lean away from sugar at the moment - we're getting fat :') ; fruits, veggies, cheeses, etc. are majorly welcomed!]
- Games: I LOVE a new board game I've never seen before!
If you bring and suggest a game, my personal only ask is to be prepared to explain and lead the game in less than 15 minutes to respect your fellow board gamers' time
For those wanting to show gratitude:
- Scott doesn't accept money of any form, but he WILL accept shared food for the event, help cleaning up, help welcoming new players, and help painting minitures to make the board games more enjoyable for future players!
About your host Scott: Mental health therapist, Fox gamer, enjoys competitive play, edgy comedy, and dark humor. Laughs loud and laughs often
The Goal: To create a small community of board gamers in Grand Prairie and help people meet people that they vibe with - not everyone is meant to get along with everyone, so we hope you find a small group you connect with in this group
