My Name is Grant, and I have been an Active Genealogy Researcher & Part-time Genealogist since 2010. And I am also GAY. I was recently removed from a New New England Genealogy Group because they said my Bio wasn't a "good fit" for them. I suspect that they didn't like it that I Own, or am a Member of, a number of LGBT+ Groups.
Also, some of my LGBT friends think I talk about Genealogy "too much"! Has that happened to you?
Therefore, I have decided to create my own Genealogy Interests Group for the LGBT+ Community in New England. Here we can "Talk Genealogy" in a Positive & Safe Atmosphere.
New England is Rich in History, and that includes Genealogy, i.e. Family History. Therefore, New England has a number of Genealogy Organizations, and almost every town has a "Historical Society". Despite all that, I am aware of only ONE New England MEETUP Group dedicated to Genealogy, and it is for Women Only! I do not know how it feels about Lesbians, "Trans" women, or Queer Women, nor Born-female Non-Binary. Therefore, this MEETUP Group is UNIQUE in New England! This an All-Genders (including Non-Binary) LGBTQ+ Genealogy Group!
As for myself, I am Gay, a father & grandfather, have have been a heavy Genealogy Researcher since March 2010. Initially, I knew I was descended from 2 families who were in Massachusetts before 1700. Today it is over 100 families in New England, NY and NJ before 1700. I have a personal database of over 62K. Member of FindAGrave since 2010. Worked for awhile as a Professional Genealogist. I have found over 80 LIVING LGBT Cousins, and somewhere near 40 LGBT Deceased. Descended from 3 Bi Distant Great-grandfathers. They were part of a Love Quadrangle!
My own Style I call "Naked Genealogy". If you hire me to do research for you, I will tell you "The Naked Truth". If your Ancestor or Relative was Infamous in some way, such as being a Murderer, Serial Killer, Criminal, Insane, Slave Owner, ... - I would Tell You. Why, I have all of those in My Own Family Tree!!
I am, as you can see from my Groups, a Nudist. I generally am Nude at my computer at home, when doing my Research. That's part of the "Naked Truth" about Me!

- Future: a Private DISCORD Server for Private Group chats and Video conferencing.
In the Socials / Gatherings / Workshops, you can bring your laptops / tablets to "show & tell" and ask for assistance.
Some may be Nude -- Clearly announced ahead, and all attendees must provide unanimous consent.
Based in Manchester, New Hampshire, but we may spread out to other locations as Host-Volunteers become available.
