We’ll meet at the Everett Bridge parking lot on Everett Road and start at 4:30. I drive a black Honda CRV and carry a blue pack.
The bluebells should be in bloom so we’ll start our hike by going to see the flowers.
Hike #1- We are going to hike Riding Run first for 4 miles. Feel free to drop out after this one if you want.
Hike #2- We cross Everett Road and hike Furnace Run for an additional 2 miles. If you’re familiar with this trail, we’re going up the stairs.
This is going to be a moderate paced hike, expect a 2 - 2.5 mph pace although that could vary. Hills and stairs on these trails so hiking poles will be very helpful! And definitely bring water.

1, 2 or 3 hike options for today. Starting from the Mohican Lodge Parking lot doing Fern Hollow loop. Move to the Covered Bridge parking lot for 2nd hike and do Lyon's falls loop and final move to Gorge Overlook parking to do that loop with the swinging bridge and ladders.

Lunch after if anyone is interested

Hike #1
4 mile, 500 ft Elevation. Slow Paced hike. 2-2.5 mph average. Start point is at the Mohican Lodge main parking area. We will follow the trails making a loop and come back along the lake to see Fern Hollow which is hopefully bright and green..

Drive to Mohican covered bridge

Hike #2:
3 Mile, 600 ft elevation Covered bridge Main parking by bathrooms

We will take the Lyon's falls trail to see both falls and follow the trail to the Dam. From there, we will cross the dam and follow a little know trail back along the rock ledge and back to the covered bridge.

Drive to Gorge Overlook

Hike #3:
2 Mile, 200 ft elevation gain, Gorge Overlook trail

Follow the gorge overlook trail to the swinging bridge and then up the ladders.

Bring snack and water. Trekking poles recommended . Dress appropriately for the weather.

Bathroom at start point in the lodge, at covered bridge and at Gorge Overlook. No Water sources on trail.

Casual ride, if your looking to return to the saddle for some miles, join us. You cann choose to return to the start at anytime.

Moderate hikes! Hike 1 or both hikes!

Start point is at the Virginia Kendall ledges picnic pavallion.

Hike #1
4.2 mile, 300 ft Elevation. We will start with a small section of the Ledge trail and then head to the pine grove coming back to the ledges and see the monkey head and loop around the rest of the ledge rock formationas and back to the start point. Moderate Paced hike. 2-mph average, no one left behind.

10 minute break between hikes

Hike 2 (Optional) 11.2 Mile, 1200 ft elevation Same start point, We will start with a small section of the ledges and then head over to Kendall Lake and do Salt run and Wetmore trails. This will be a moderate hike at a faster pace than the first hike at 2.5- 3 mph.

Bring snacks, Trekking poles, and water.
