What we’re about
This group is for women who want to meet new people and make friends in and around the Guildford area. There’s similar groups out there but from experience all events seem to get filled quickly. This way we all have more chance of actually meeting new people, making friends and having fun.
We've all had a few tough years and as we get back to 'normal' life, I want to put on events where we can get together and have a fun! I'd love ideas and suggestions for events, and even for others to join as hosts - if they want to.
There are only three rules:
- Have fun, &
- Attend as many or as little events as you like,
- Change your RSVP if you can't make it so someone else can enjoy the first two rules.
I look forward to seeing you all at an event soon.
:-)

See all- February Book Club: Lady Chatterley's LoverKerrera, Guildford
Hello all! We decided in December that for February we could combine a classic book with a romance/naughty book - so Lady Chatterley's Lover it is!
I read this one many years ago but I do remember it as being a brilliant book. It does have a lot vulgarity and smuttiness - so if this is not your thing - probably best to give this one a miss.
Here is a summary of the book: Lady Chatterley’s Lover is a novel by D.H. Lawrence that was first published in 1928. It tells the story of a deeply unhappy woman married to a distant and impotent man who finds release in an affair (described by Lawrence in vivid detail) with the gameskeeper of the family estate.
Lady Chatterley’s Lover was banned in England and the United States after its publication with the unexpurgated edition not appearing in America until 1959, after a lengthy legal battle.
*I would advise buying the explicit/unannotated version. It is available on Amazon for 2.99 paperback or 49p Kindle. There are also many copies available in libraries and it is on Audible.
There have been many film and television adaptions over the years but the most recent was in 2022 on Netflix - this movie is still available to stream.
Topics we will explore in our club meeting include: Sex, class divide, classism, WWI, intellect vs physical, censorship, money and love.
Look forward to seeing you all there!
