What we’re about
Harmony Celebration Chorus is a group of fun-loving and dedicated singers who love a cappella music in 4-part harmony. We sing music from a variety of genres and time periods, from classics like Danny Boy to the Beatles to Carole King to Pink to the Greatest Showman!
Our chorus of 50+ members come from all walks of life and span a large age group. We perform locally as well as compete annually with Sweet Adelines International (SAI). Harmony Celebration Chorus is currently the top SAI Midsize chorus in the New York/New Jersey region and will be traveling to Columbus, Ohio in October 2025 to compete in the International contest against about 35 other choruses! Sweet Adelines focuses on musical education, so as well as having fun singing and rehearsing, we also learn about singing harmony, how to sing well in a group, and how to improve our own vocal skills.
If you are a singer in the soprano/alto range think you might have interest in joining our group, come on down! We would love to meet you and sing for you (and with you!). We rehearse Wednesday evenings at 7:30 pm at the Temple Israel in Ridgewood. You do not need any previous musical training or need to read sheet music in order to join us (it helps, but it is certainly not a requirement). We use "tracks" to learn our songs, so if you can learn a song from the radio, you can learn a song from a learning track. We need singers with a good ear who can match pitch and who are willing to learn. We will walk you through our audition process and encourage you every step of the way. We want you to succeed!
