What we’re about
The Harrisonburg Writers Critique Circle is a Meetup group for local writers. Please join us if you would like to:
-meet other local writers, authors, dabblers, novelists, and wordsmiths;
-improve your writing by receiving feedback from your peers;
-provide constructive critiques of your peers' work, and;
-occasionally cap the pen or close the laptop and enjoy a social event with the group.
We meet on the first and third Thursdays at the Central Library, or Panera Bread if the library is booked.

Our speaker in June will be author H M DuVal.
She will present on Crafting Believable Characters. This will likely be most applicable to fiction writers (of any genre). She'll start with a short "this is why you should care about doing this well" talk and then invite participants to workshop some of their own characters (or make some up). Then close with a group discussion about what the practice revealed for anyone who wants to share/how that enriches storytelling as a whole.
H M DuVal is a mother, Kinesiologist, and author of the Dream Walker series. An avid reader, she loves how stories spirit us away from the mundane and into the sensational, and believes that shift in perspective helps us find the magic inside our own lives.
