Join us for a refreshing winter walk and lunch on Sunday, January 19th, as we support Meta House, a local agency helping women overcome substance use disorder.
We'll meet at Riverside Park (see "how to find us" for specific meeting location) and walk to Corner Bakery Cafe in Shorewood, taking either the Oak Leaf Trail or the East Bank Trail along the Milwaukee River. After lunch we'll head back to our starting point at Riverside Park. Round trip distance will be about 4 miles.
Also, for those who are interested in helping, I will be collecting new, unused clothing items for Metal House’s residential treatment program. Upon starting their treatment programs, some Meta House clients are unable to provide for their clothing and hygiene needs. Our donations will help these women start their path to recovery on the right foot. As we work to accomplish the goals we set for ourselves in 2025, let’s also remember the people in our communities who are working to turn their lives around.
See below for a list of needed clothing items. Please note: a donation is appreciated, but not required, to attend this Meetup event.
For clothing items, size large is most needed. Also, if anyone wants to leave a note in the comments section about what you plan to bring that can help to avoid duplicated items.
