What we’re about
Let's go outdoors and hike/walk as much as possible.
The goal of this group is to build and maintain good health through brisk walking on local paved trails and also through hiking activities locally and further away.
We can track our walks/hikes on a mobile app and post the stats (miles, pace, elevation, etc.) in the comment section.
Objective is 2-3 walks on local paved trails every week for 3-5 miles each.
During weekends, we will also do as much Day Hiking as possible in the wider North Texas area and beyond.
Camping and Backpacking will be bonus activities for those interested :)

Sunset Park, 6301 Midway Road, Plano, Texas, Plano, TX, USOur second walk starts in Sunset Park. It's 1.8 miles from the park to the end of the trail for a round trip of 3.6 miles. For those who wish to put in more mileage, we can walk the loop in the Sunset Park. I've pasted links to the maps maintained by Plano Parks and Recreation. Below those, you'll find the description of the series.

Ready to explore Plano one step at a time? Plano has 85 parks and 98 miles of trails, and we’re going to explore them all.Saturday mornings at 9am, we’ll gather to walk new parks and trails, ranging from cozy neighborhood parks to sprawling nature preserves.
The goal is simple: enjoy the outdoors, get to know Plano’s green spaces, and walk every mile of trail. Whether you’re new to the area or have lived here for years, it’s a great way to see parts of the city you might not have visited before. We may ramble, we may get a little lost, but we’ll always find our way. These walks aren’t tightly scripted, so come with a sense of adventure and a flexible mindset.
First walk kicks off Saturday, October 18th I’ll announce the meeting spot and route soon. Mark your calendar and get ready to start exploring. It will take about 30 meetups to cover all of the parks and trails, so we should finish up the series in May of next year.
Bring water, wear comfortable shoes, and join when you can.
