We are the premier Baltimore Hiking group with over 9,000 members.
This group is for all those who are dedicated to hiking, biking, camping, and any other fun outdoor activity in and around Baltimore whether in the natural areas or urban settings. We offer a range of activities at different times and locations, and encourage all members to make suggestions or plan and lead events.

See all- Patapsco State Park River Trail & Trolley Stop: Flat, Easy 9 MilesEllicott City - Trolley Trail, Ellicott City, MD
Walk about a half mile to the trail head. The trail is flat and parallels the Patapsco River from Oella past Rt 40 and Rt 70 to Old Frederick Rd. Scenic views of the river for the entire hike.
Average pace: 2.5 - 3.0 mph
Optional: Trolly Stop after the hike. Rated 15 out of 135 Restaurants in Ellicott City. Excellent food, large portions at a reasonable price. My favorite is the Cheesesteak. Alcoholic beverages also available: beer, wine, mixed drinks.
Directions: Get on Frederick Ave and turn toward the Trolley Stop. The Trolley Stop is located across the bridge from Old Town Ellicott City off Frederick Ave. From Old Town EC, make a left at the Trolley Stop (Oella Ave) and park in public lot one block from the Trolley Stop on the Right Hand Side.
Bring water and snacks.

- Harper's Ferry Weverton Cliffs & HF Brewery: Slightly Strenuous 7 - 8 MilesWeverton Cliffs Parking Lot, Knoxville, MD
Directions to Harper's Ferry from Baltimore: 70 West to 340 South. Follow 340 to MD 67 West (Only Choice). From MD 67, make the First Right at Weverton Cliffs RD. Go about 3 Blocks and make a right at the Parking Lot. Huge Lot - Plenty of Parking. Note: If you cross bridge (Potomac River) into Virginia, then you passed MD 67N. The entire hike is on the Appalachian Trail.
Hike starts with a steep climb to the top of Weverton Cliffs, so there will be several stops along the way. At the top of the hill, we proceed to hike for another 3 miles on the Appalachian Trail. Then we turn back and proceed to the Weverton Cliffs Overlook. Lunch at Overlook. The overlook provides scenic views of the Potomac River. Note: Climb Not as long or steep as MD Heights or Louden Heights.
Optional: Harper's Ferry Brewery after the hike. Take Rt 340 toward Harper's Ferry. After crossing the bridge from Maryland into Virginia, make the first left. Sign: Harper's ferry Brewery. Go up the hill and the brewery is on the left.
Dogs Allowed.
Bring plenty of water (at least 2 Liters) and a lunch for the overlook.
This is a Slightly Strenuous Hike!
