It is the end of 2024 and you are living your life where ever you are from in whatever you do. Suddenly there is this freak weather (amber sky; Red, Green, purple, white lightning; heavy wind but no rain) One moment you blink and the next moment the storm is completely gone. No trace of it. You go about your day even forgetting about it for awhile but it keeps happening day in day out.
Same thing ...Freak storm, blink, Freak storm gone. But this time you find you have bruises all about you that you didn't have before. Gradually as the days go by other things start to be noticed. People you don't believe you have met talking to you as if you have been their best friend for years. Places you thought you knew how to get to no longer exist. Then the last instance was a good friend who you knew your entire life just disappears and no one knows them. Not even their parents/ siblings. There is no normal trace of them. You have a sneaking suspicion it has something to do with that freak storm but no one around you seems to have any recognition of it. It is the last week of 2024 and the Storm is about to arrive.
Hello everyone. Heroes of the Storm is a 5E Everyday Heroes Long Form One Shot campaign I am endevouring to create. Everyday Heroes is the current 5E version of the old d20 Modern. It is Dungeons and Dragons adjacent for those who have never heard of it. What I mean by Long Form One Shots are that each session will reset at the end. Characters will start in one place and end in that place whether they have completed the task or not. Players can drop in at anytime and are not obligated to be at every session. However, the more session a player is able to attend the more of the overall story they will learn.
The Theme is mystery - what is with the storms and why does your character have the lingering knowledge that something is amiss when everyone around them is unaware. There is a multi-universe aspect of the story so each story will be unique in it's on right and characters will find they may or may not have knowledge of individual adventures.
I am looking into running this on a Discord server but will also be looking into Fantasy Grounds or Roll 20. I am going to make it mostly online (even though I prefer in person games) as this is the best chance to get people.
I can go with one person or multi but each session if there is new person joining there will have to be a time to create the base character before they enter the "arena" of the story. This session will be mostly creation of character.
