The Action Support Group
Most of us are exhausted, weary, and frightened by what is happening to our social service programs and our country (USA). It’s nearly impossible to see what we, given our age, health, and physical challenges, could actually do to help preserve our programs and change what we see unfolding.
The fact is, we can ALL do something.
Together, we sort out what actions we can reasonably, realistically, and comfortably take.
At our Action Support Group, we also discuss individual nonviolent actions taken during the past week and receive technical or emotional support related to those actions.
We prioritize discussions around questions and issues that arose from our actions. From there, if time allows, we might discuss possible actions for the upcoming week, share information on where we get our news, and more.
We are not a therapeutic support group. While we might discuss emotions related to specific actions, we do not talk about our mental health in relation to other issues, including the present administration's actions.
Nor are we a political discussion group. This Action Support Group only discusses politics as it relates to our specific actions. If you want to discuss politics, join Political Discussions online on Tuesdays at 9:30.
Our actions are ours alone. Nonviolent actions might include (but are by no means limited to) attending protests, making friends with Trump supporters, creating jokes to ease tension, or writing letters. Actions are entirely up to each individual.
Attendees are joining from other sites, so there will be participants who did not sign up through MeetUp.
At Inclusion Center, we believe everyone's unique experiences provide valuable insights that help and inspire others. All views are respected and appreciated.
Sessions are free.
