What we’re about
We meet online and occasionally in person to learn and practice zen reflection and meditation in an inclusive way, sharing silence together, and to reflect on perspectives and practices from the world's many sources of wisdom.
Zen is the practice of coming to see and embody the oneness and interconnectedness of life - so taught Roshi Bernie Glassman, a great pioneer of socially engaged Buddhism, interfaith cooperation and respected teacher in the Japanese Soto Zen tradition.
We practice under the guidance of Roshi Jeana Teiju Moore, a lifelong student of Zen who helped Glassman create and lead international peacemaking circles, bringing people of many cultures and religions together to find ways to address conflict and practical social challenges. She has led activities all over the world, including Palestine and Israel, Europe, and the US. Teiju Roshi began her studies as a live-in student at the Zen Centre of Los Angeles under Taizan Maezumi Roshi from Japan over 50 years ago.
