What we’re about
All interested pickleball players age 18 and up are invited to join us for some pickleball playing fun. Members are made up of social players (people who prefer not to get rated and just want to play for fun) and other players rated below the 4.0 level. We do limit the membership size number to ensure quality playing time for all members
There is a two week trial period before you have to pay $75.00 for the season. Make sure you pay this before your trial is over or you will be removed from the Meetup group. Dues are collected annually.
Acceptance of the following Liability Waiver and Code of Conduct are required for membership in this group.
RELEASE, PERMISSION, AND INDEMNITY AGREEMENT
Release. In consideration of being permitted to participate in any way in the Jamison Pickleball Club (“the Club”),
I, for myself, my heirs or assigns, hereby release, waive, discharge and covenant not to sue the USA Pickleball (USA Pickleball Association) as well as:
Warwick Township,
Craig G. Martin, Nancy A. Martin, David Toal (Club Directors),
their officers, employees and agents from liability from any and all claims resulting in personal injuries, death, accidents, illnesses (such as communicable diseases including COVID-19), and property loss arising from, but not limited to, participation in Club activities.
Assumption of Risk. Participation in the Club carries with it certain inherent risks that cannot be eliminated regardless of the care taken to avoid injuries. The specific risks vary but include 1) minor injuries such as bruises, sprains and dehydration, 2) major injuries such as eye injuries, joint or back injuries, heat stroke, heart attacks, and concussions, and 3) catastrophic injuries such as paralysis and death. I have read the previous paragraphs and I know, understand and appreciate these and other risks that are inherent in playing pickleball. I assert that my participation is voluntary and that I knowingly assume all such risks.
Indemnification and Hold Harmless. I also agree to indemnify and hold the USA Pickleball and all named above harmless from any and all claims, actions, suits, costs, expenses, damages and liabilities, including attorney’s fees brought as a result of my involvement in the Club.
Use Permission. I also give USA Pickleball, the “Club” and its agents and designees permission to use or distribute, without limitation or obligation, my image, name, voice, and words for any purpose connected with the Club, including promotional, marketing, training, informational, and archival uses.
Jamison Pickleball Club Code of Conduct
Every person involved in Jamison Pickleball (participant, official, volunteer, or spectator) pledges as follows:
- I will not engage in unsportsmanlike conduct or encourage others to do so.
- I will not engage in any behavior that would endanger the health, safety or well-being of others.
- I will not confront, aggressively or otherwise, any other member of the group. This includes crossing over to the other side of the net in an aggressive manner.
- I will not engage in the use of profanity, offensive words or phrases.
- I will treat others with respect.
- I will exhibit fairness and honesty in my dealings with others.
- I will not throw my paddle, or otherwise purposely mishandle any equipment.
- I will be sure to stop play whenever an unsafe situation arises, such as a stray ball on the court, or a player getting injured.
- I will do my best to warn those on adjacent courts if a ball is hit onto their court.
- I will be respectful of players of lesser ability; encourage their effort, praise their good shots, and don’t disparage their poor ones.
- I will not display offensive logos or designs.
- I will not play if my movement or judgment is impaired by alcohol or other drugs.
- I will accept responsibility for myself, my guests and family members in attendance.
- Treat others as you would be like to treated if you were in their situation.
The above Code applies in all situations that relate directly or indirectly to playing pickleball in the Jamison Pickleball Club at the Guinea Lane Park Pickleball courts.
A reminder that there are a wide range of skills in the Jamison Pickleball Club. No member of this group should ever be made to feel like others do not want to play with them because of their skill level. That is unacceptable behavior. If you get paired with someone who you think does not meet your skill level standards, work on your own skills during the game and make the game enjoyable for your partner and the other team. You will be surprised how good that feels. Remember to check your ego at the door, or gate in this case. This is a classic Golden Rule situation. There will always be players better than and worse than you. Treat others as you would like to be treated if you were in their shoes.
