Looking for some Winter fun? Join us as we continue to celebrate Winter! We will be staying at the Capitol Square BNB / Hostel in Washington DC. Located at 1259 K Street East. The area is filled with small shops, restaurants and market. We will visit Barracks Row named after the oldest Marine Corps. Capitol Square offers free wifi, lockers, tea/coffee, simple breakfast and linens. 6 bed dorm rooms are $35 per night. Get your bed before the light goes out. :)

When: March 7-9, 2025 Check in 2pm/Check out 12pm

What U need to know:
Our tent area is a level grassy field or tucked away in trees on a working farm that has highland cows, goats & chickens, which we get to meet. Well water, a portable toilet and fire ring are provided by the farm. We will have this space to ourselves for the weekend.

I will bring two 6 foot tables and a 10X20 EZ up with sides that we can use for central gathering should the weather not be in our favor.

This farm is about 13 miles east of Gettysburg where many options are available. I will keep watch for ranger led programs. And to the west about 13 miles, is Codorus State Park with other options.

PROPOSED PLAN:
Fri, Mar 7: Arrive, set up camp, campfire, determine group activity
Sat, Mar 8, 9am: Group activity 5pm: Group potluck
Sun, Mar 9: Breakfast, strike camp, return home

No one is under any obligation to follow proposed plan. Camping is a chill event.

For the potluck dinner, just bring your favorite picnic food. No store-bought chips/dip and your main offering, please. Frankly, it doesn't get eaten and is cop out.

Each person should bring a bundle of firewood to support our evening fires.

Pets on leash allowed. Alcohol consumption in moderation allowed.

Time to open up for outdoor camping. We will visit Cedarville State Forest for our first outdoor camping of this year. We can explore the various national and historical features of the forest. Cedarville offers fresh water fishing, hiking and biking trails as well as horse back riding trails. Come and celebrate the opening of outdoor camping at Cedarville. And of course pot lucks are always welcomed! :)

WHERE: Swallow Falls State Park, 2470 Maple Glade Road, Oakland, MD 21550 Tolivar Loop
WHEN: May 30-June 1, 2025. Check in/out: 3pm/12pm

This mountain park is located nine miles north of Oakland, Maryland and contains some of Maryland's most breathtaking scenery. The Youghiogheny River flows along the park's borders, passing through shaded rocky gorges and creating rippling rapids. Muddy Creek Falls is a crashing 53-foot waterfall – a spectacular sight. Tall hemlocks dominate the silent woods. The 1.25 mile trail through S​wallow Falls guides hikers to some of the most breath-taking scenery in Western Maryland. Other trails through the area include a trail to Herrington Manor State Park which boasts a 53 acre lake for swimming/boating. Your payment to Swallow Falls includes entry to Herrington Manor.

No one is under any obligation to participate in the proposed plan. This is your time to be enjoyed as you like.

For the group dinner, just bring your favorite picnic food. Pleas refrain from store bought chips/dip as your main offering. It usually doesn't get eaten and frankly; it is a cop out.

Please bring something GREEN to tie around your campsite post to help me identify you are part Just for Fun Camping.
