Greta lives with her friend Sabine in an ancient Dutch farmhouse in Hudson, New York. The house is unrenovated, uninsulated, and full of bees. Greta spends her days transcribing therapy sessions for a sex coach who calls himself Om. She becomes infatuated with his newest client, a repressed married woman she affectionately refers to as Big Swiss.

Cutting for Stone is a 2009 novel by Abraham Verghese about twin brothers, Marion and Shiva, born in Ethiopia to a British surgeon and an Indian nun. The story is a sweeping family saga that follows their lives, their shared fascination with medicine, and their complex relationships as they navigate love, betrayal, and exile. The novel is known for its detailed medical descriptions, vivid portrayal of Ethiopian culture, and exploration of themes like forgiveness and the healing process.
