For July we will be studying the only known surviving works of the 2nd century philosopher Hierocles. He is mostly known for his illustration of the oikeiosis (areas of concern and affinity) in our lives as concentric circles (self, family, friends/acquaintances, neighbors, all the way out to the cosmology of the Human race). This is a shorter book, but contains many lessons to ponder on the philosophy of living a good life.
We will also be reviewing notebook 7 of the meditations of Marcus Aurelius this month. For more information on Stoicism please visit https://sites.google.com/view/stoic-virtues-book-club/home
We meet at Panera in Renton Landing, hope to see you there!
