Kent, Ohio Russian Language Meetup

Introducing...Kино Kлуб!

We already meet on the first and third Wednesdays of the month for our regular conversation meetups. But sometimes there is a 5th Wednesday of the month. What a great opportunity to show a film!

Starting this month, we will host a 5th Wednesday of the month "Kино Kлуб", lead by Ryan. We will show a film in russian with english subtitles, follwed by a short discussion after the film in russian. If you don't speak russian too well, please feel welcome to stay and listen in or participate as you are able.

This month's film is "Вий" (an adaptation of the horror novella, written by Nikolai Gogol).

This is a casual conversation group for people to practice speaking Russian. No English! :-)
Discussion topics will be posted approximately a week before each meetup - feel free to look up some words so you are prepared!

Level of Russian Required:

• At a minimum you should be able to carry on a basic conversation in Russian. (Mistakes are okay!)
• Advanced and native speakers are of course welcome!
• This is a speaking group; not a listening group. If you don't speak Russian, this is probably not the group for you.

How to join the event:

• RSVPs are cut off 24 hours before the event.
• After you RSVP, you will see the event link under the heading "Online Event".
• Please RSVP early and locate the event link.
• If you can't find the link, please send Karyn a direct message via meetup.com at least 2 hours before the event starts.

New Structure!
We are going to start adding in some structure to the meetups to help keep the conversation flowing. When possible, we'll announce some discussion topics in advance so you can prepare. Remember, this is a speaking group, not a listening group, so all are encouraged to participate.
