If you've never heard of Kirtan, it's one of the main practices of Bhakti Yoga. The yoga tradition offers various paths for realising the "Self" and it says in the Bhagavad Gita that Bhakti Yoga, or the yoga of devotion, is the best way.
The practice of kirtan involves chanting sacred mantras in a call and response manner to music. The practice itself is very simple, we hear and then we chant. Very quickly we move beyond our busy minds and begin to experience the joy within.
This month known as kartik is a sacred month in the Bhakti calendar. So this week we’ll have a special program relating to that.
