Upcoming events (4+)
See all- Crochet Granny SquaresGeeky Teas & Games, Burbank, CA
Crochet Granny Squares are all the rage right now and are a part of so many different projects so we thought it would be fun to learn some tips and tricks for making them from our own Maridee Dangcil. Plus, we’re planning a crochet-a-long for the new year that will feature grannies, so this is a great place to start!
Join us at Geeky Teas in Burbank (900 W Alameda Ave, Burbank, CA 91506) on Saturday, October 26th from 1pm until 4pm. The room we're using has limited space, so this class has a max capacity of 12 students.
Granny Squares are a great way to learn to crochet but this class will not be a “how to crochet” class. It would be great if you already knew how to make a chain, the single crochet (sc) and double crochet (dc) stitches. If this is your first time crocheting, you won’t likely get as much out of the class but you’re welcome to attend.
The topics we’ll cover include a discussion of materials and choosing yarn colors, reviewing the stitches, showing how to crochet in the round and sharing two different ways to start, turning your circle into a square, and if there is time, borders and seaming.
There is no charge for this class, but it is only for Members of the Knerdy Knitters & Crocheters of the SFV whose membership dues are up to date.
If you are not currently an official member of the guild, please click HERE to join and then come back and RSVP for this class. If you do RSVP to attend but have not joined the guild, we will reach out to ask you to join or you will not be allowed to attend.
