See all- Step-by-Step KAL, Class: Short Row Shaping - in person - Members OnlyAtwater Village, Atwater Village, CA
This is a MEMBERS ONLY EVENT - Attendee Limit so don’t wait to RSVP
NOTE:
Please bring the following materials to the short-row class:
1. Light colored yarn
2. Small circumference circular needles (16” or less), any size that works with the yarn you’re bringing
3. 9 stitch markers
4. a way to count your rows (row counter, paper, marker, etc.)I will print out the sweater pattern pages with the short rows for everyone who attends. Even if you are not making the sweater, this is a great skill to practice and we’ll spend a little time going over the raglan increases for the cardigan. I will provide drinks for everyone and we will meet inside.
Learn the art of short-row shaping to help you with your Step-by-Step Sweater! This Spring, the Knerdy Knitters and Crocheters of the SFV are leading the #StepByStepKAL, for both step-by-step patterns by Florence Miller, aka Handmade by Florence on IG and YouTube.
In this in-person class, we will cover how to shape the yoke of a sweater so that the back is higher than the front. This is a common feature in machine-knit garments that keeps the neckline of your clothes from riding up uncomfortably. We will be focusing primarily on German short rows, but depending on how quickly we get through the material, we can include more short-row techniques as time allows.
We will be meeting outside, so dress appropriately for the weather. If needed, we can move inside. Materials will not be provided. Please bring yarn and needles, or the beginnings of your Step-by-Step sweater! We will be following the pattern for this class, and covering the basics of turning, making double stitches, and resolving them as we go.

This class will be held at a personal residence, so please be respectful and kind to your surroundings.Location will be sent to registrants prior to the start date.
